Chapter 363 Selena, I'm Sorry
Beatrice was still throwing a fit, but when she heard the conversation, she froze.
James, meanwhile, was totally confused, a sharp pain bringing back memories of that day.
The calmest person in the room was Selena.
But she got some unexpected news: Beatrice was cheating with Kenny?
Selena smirked sandornically, "Dad, take a good look at your faithful wife and the daughter you're so proud of. You never believed in me. Everytime Beatrice badmouths me, you round on me.. I'm done."
She lowered her lashes, her tone cold, and handed the voice recorder to James. "Kenny signed a contract with Apex Holdings Group. In six months, he owes $1.4 billion. Now he's run off. I always wonder how he convinced the board. Turns out he was with Beatrice. When do you think they started? No wonder Beatrice was acting weird when I came home late for some documents. Kenny must've been in the villa."
But Selena was over it. After giving James the voice recorder, she turned her heels to leave.
James, though, was too shocked to react.
Beatrice, crying on the floor, wished she could crawl into a hole.
James stared at the voice recorder, unable to process it all.
Regret, pain, and anger wereall mixed up in his stomach.
Finally, he weakly gripped the voice recorder and called the cops.
In less than half an hour, the police came and took Beatrice away. James accused her of a failed attempt to murder him.
Alice, who tried to poison him, didn't get away with it, either.
James even pulled out hidden camera footage from the villa, a camera only he knew about because he had always been wary of this day.
After all, Nick wasn't his son.
But Nick had always behaved well. Thinking about that jerk trying to hurt Selena, and how he had thrown a teacup at her when he woke up, James broke down and cried.
The footage showed Beatrice and Kenny pushing him down the stairs and having their affair in the house.
Seeing these awful scenes, James thought he might faint.
But he stayed calm.
Even when Alice begged, he didn't budge.
"Dad, I'm your daughter. Dad, please don't do this to me." Alice was crying her heart out. How could she go to jail?
She was supposed to marry Raymond! "Dad, just give me a chance! I will definitely win Raymond over!"
Hearing this, James's eyes narrowed, remembering what Selena had said, and he smiled bitterly.
Over the years, how much had Selena suffered?
Even if he died, he wouldn't dare to face Barbara.
James was trembling all over, supported by a nurse back to his ward.
As soon as Selena got back to Rose Garden, she got a text from James.
James: [Selena, I'm sorry. I was wrong.]
James: [I've taken back the shares from Beatrice. Tonight, I'll review the contract with Apex Holdings Group. I won't let you suffer anymore.]
Seeing these words, Selena's eyes immediately welled up.
She hadn't cried at the hospital, but now, back at Rose Garden, sitting alone on the sofa, she couldn't hold back her tears.
If James had always been cold to her, she wouldn't be so hurt.
But James had been good to her and once been the best dad in her eyes.
After crying for a while, Selena got another text from James.
James: [Nick is in a coma, and Beatrice and Alice are going to jail. I'm such a failure. I've raised three heartless people over the years and almost lost my company.]
