Chapter 1605 It Was a Humiliating Disgrace

Raymond recognized the voice; it was the uniformed man who had shown up in the hall that day.

He was supposed to be at a meeting in Vistalia, but with surveillance all over the research base, it was only a matter of time before he discovered the chaos here. Raymond just didn't expect him to find out so soon.

Raymond's mind raced. He quickly pushed open the door that held the beasts captive. The creatures stepped out slowly, their heavy footsteps echoing.

Clifton stood nearby, questioning. "Is this gonna work? The chaos we created seems to have been neutralized by some weird ringing sound. It looks like everyone here has been hypnotized. As soon as they hear that sound, no matter what state they're in, they snap out of it immediately."

"It'll work. These beasts have been trained too. Once they're out, they'll just go nuts trying to escape. They only dare to eat people thrown into their cages. When they encounter someone outside the cage, they get terrified, and that fear drives them mad. While they're in that state, we can look for Lawrence."

Lawrence had come in the same day as Clifton, but they still hadn't found him.

Raymond was starting to worry. If Lawrence wasn't among the lower-level staff, then he must be with the test subjects.

If he had been taken for experiments, could he still be alive?

The beasts were all out of their cages, and just as Raymond had said, they roared and crashed around, desperately searching for a way out.

The researchers had calmed down, but seeing the beasts overturning machines and medicine bottles, chaos erupted once again.

Raymond and Clifton had searched three areas, including the glass boxes with the test subjects, but they still hadn't found Lawrence. Where else could he be?

Raymond looked around, his heart sinking.

He started walking back.

Clifton had no choice but to follow.

They walked all the way back to the original hall. Raymond headed to the most secluded test box.

This test box was behind number 8. Because the number 8 test subject was so ferocious, no one dared to go near it, leaving the area behind it neglected.

Inside the large glass box hung a man. His clothes were gone, leaving only a pair of shorts for modesty.

Besides the man, there was a woman sitting in a chair.

Her nails were long and bloody, her hair just reaching her shoulders, revealing a seemingly innocent face.

She did look innocent. At first glance, you'd think she was a student.

But as soon as Raymond and Clifton stood outside the glass box, the innocent-looking woman bared her teeth and lunged at them.

She couldn't break through the glass, so she just glared at them viciously.

The hanging man had his head down and hadn't moved, but Clifton recognized him immediately. It was Lawrence.

"Shit! Lawrence!" He shouted, noticing a machine nearby. It was monitoring the situation inside the cage, with data displayed on the screen.

October 1st, mating failed.

October 2nd, mating failed.

October 3rd, mating failed...

Clifton's scalp tingled. What the hell had they done to Lawrence?

So the girl in the same glass room was the one Lawrence was supposed to serve?

Clifton's lips twitched, stunned for a few seconds before he asked Raymond. "How do we open this glass box?"

Lawrence hadn't moved at all, clearly unconscious. If he stayed that way, would he die?

"Raymond?" Clifton called out again, turning to see Raymond's equally troubled expression.

It was clear neither of them had expected Lawrence to be used in such a humiliating way.
