Chapter 145 I Think She's Got an Agenda
Selena's ankle healed up pretty fast, but Raymond's hand was a mess, and it wasn't gonna get better in just a few days.
Since it was his right hand, changing the bandage was a pain. He tried cutting it off with scissors, but all he managed was a tiny slit.
At the bar tonight, Raymond kept his hand hidden, so even Alex had no clue he was hurt.
Selena paused for a sec, then stepped up and took the scissors from him.
Raymond was caught off guard, looked at her for a moment, then looked away.
Selena didn't look at him, just focused on the wound.
Once she cut the bandage open, she carefully unwrapped it layer by layer.
With the bandage off, the wound was exposed.
It had been stitched up before and was healing well, which made her sigh in relief.
Selena carefully applied some ointment and wrapped a new bandage around it.
After finishing up, she finally looked up and was about to say something when a voice came from the doorway. "You..."
Selena frowned and turned to see Alex standing there.
Alex was totally shocked, even took a step back to check if he was in the right room.
When Selena had come in, she hadn't closed the door, thinking she'd leave soon.
Now she felt awkward and quickly stood up. "It's done, Mr. Montague. I'll be going now."
Raymond stayed quiet, but Alex, on the other hand, was making all these exaggerated faces, like he'd stumbled on some big secret.
Selena knew Alex had the wrong idea, but even if she didn't explain, Raymond would later.
So Selena just nodded politely at Alex and then left with the thermos.
As soon as the door closed, Alex walked in quickly.
"If I hadn't come over tonight, I wouldn't have caught this scene. You acted all uncomfortable when she kissed you in the booth, but it turns out you've already had sex with her." Alex, being a screenwriter, had a wild imagination and started to scold Raymond.
"I told you she likes you, but you didn't believe me. She even came over to bandage your hand? Did you hurt your hand for her? Raymond, you're something else. Finally getting rid of Olivia and looking for the next girlfriend?" Alex kept going.
Raymond frowned, finding him annoying. "You're so annoying."
Alex chuckled and sat down nearby. "So what's the deal? Just letting her get close to you like this? I think she's got an agenda. Otherwise, why would she take on your project? Has she been secretly in love with you for a long time?"
"I didn't know her before," Raymond responded.
"But that doesn't stop her from knowing you. Maybe she saw you at some event and couldn't forget you." Alex's words were so convincing that for a moment, Raymond almost believed him.
But remembering that Selena was married, Raymond didn't continue the conversation and instead changed the subject. "What are you here for?"
Alex leaned back, looking all refined, and placed the documents he was holding on the table.
"You left your documents behind." After saying that, Alex stood up to leave but then smiled and spoke again. "You slept with this designer for a night. If she's really married, didn't her husband come to cause trouble? Your first time must have been pretty intense, right?"
"Get out," Raymond said, waving him off impatiently.
Seeing Raymond's reaction, Alex knew he must have been pretty rough that night. Even so, Selena's husband hadn't made a fuss.
Was Selena really married?
This was also a point of confusion for Raymond, but everything afterward indicated that Selena was indeed married, though her husband didn't seem to care about her.
Raymond, not one to meddle in others' marital affairs, was about to get back to work when he heard a commotion in the hallway.
