Chapter 350 Are You Worried About Me?
Max was wagging his tail wildly at the door.
Selena stopped, thinking Fiona must've forgotten to shut the door again.
Max bolted over, rolling around frantically in front of her, like he really didn't want to go back to that room.
Worried his barking might wake Fiona, Selena quickly led Max out to the garden.
But tonight, Max was super hyped and just wouldn't go into that room.
Selena figured he was just super excited from not seeing her for a while. Just as she was about to drag him in, she heard a noise from the living room—someone was in the house.
At this hour, it couldn't be the servants.
And it definitely wasn't Fiona; she was already in bed.
'A thief?' she thought.
But the security at Ashbourne Manor was top-notch; they'd never had any issues.
Max took advantage of her distraction, broke free from the leash, and dashed towards the living room.
It seemed like he knew someone he liked was here; his barking was way more excited than usual.
Selena had no choice but to follow him.
Just as she cracked open the living room door, she heard Raymond's voice. "Haven't I seen you somewhere before?"
Because of the distinctive mark on Max's forehead, Raymond squinted.
Selena had planned to step in, but now she didn't dare and quickly left Ashbourne Manor.
But Max stayed behind.
She rushed back to Rose Garden, her heart racing, and called Fiona.
But Fiona seemed to be in a deep sleep and didn't pick up.
Selena had to send her a message, telling her not to admit that she was keeping a dog at Ashbourne Manor.
Meanwhile, Raymond unbuttoned a couple of buttons on his shirt, saw Max sleeping at his feet, rolling around a bit, and looking up at him with bright eyes.
"Max?" He called out uncertainly, and Max immediately jumped up, tail wagging like crazy.
Raymond chuckled. "So it is you."
Penny lost Max again?
She loved Max so much; she must be freaking out right now.
He reached out to pet him but remembered his dog hair allergy and slowly pulled his hand back.
Max looked a lot like a puppy he had seen a few years ago, one that Christopher had brought back.
That puppy was later sent away, and he had no idea who adopted it.
Raymond pulled out his phone and called Selena.
Selena was still at Rose Garden, feeling uneasy because her computer was still on in the living room at Ashbourne Manor. Even though the screen would turn off after a while, if Raymond got curious and turned it on, he'd definitely find it full of info about the Fair family.
And the data file she had left beside it had her name on the second page, which was her habit.
She was super anxious, just thinking about whether to come clean when Raymond's call came in.
He called softly, "Penny."
There was a hint of gentleness in his voice.
"Raymond."
"Max is with me. Has he been naughty again?"
Selena's eyes lit up, and she quickly stood up. "Yes, I've been looking for him all night. I had no idea where he ran off to. Thank you. I'll drive over to pick him up now."
"Do you know where I am?"
"No, so where are you?"
Raymond lowered his eyelashes. "I'll drive over and bring him to you."
Late at night, Raymond was going to bring her Max?
Selena was about to agree, but his tone sounded different from usual. Could he be drunk?
"No. Have you been drinking tonight? I'll come over. Just send me the address. Drunk driving is dangerous."
Raymond chuckled softly, "Are you worried about me?"
