Chapter 1364 Stole My Own Daughter's Childhood!
Tessa descended the stairs, her confidence faltering at the sight of Lawrence kneeling on the floor and Cora's ashen face.
"Dad," she called tentatively, feeling Jason's glacial stare pierce through her, triggering an involuntary shiver.
"Don't you dare call me that," Jason seethed. "Some stranger, switched at birth, infiltrating my home and stealing my real daughter's childhood!"
His mind was consumed by the fiery crash scene. The realization that Tessa had orchestrated his own daughter's death through Lawrence filled him with murderous rage. Nothing mattered anymore except the impossible wish for his daughter's return.
The color drained from Tessa's face. "Dad, what are you saying? I don't understand any of this."
She moved closer to Lawrence, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Lawrence, Mom, did something happen to Dad? I'm scared."
Without warning, Jason threw a document onto the coffee table. "This is our DNA test. You are not my biological daughter. Stop this pathetic act—you've known all along. Your performance only disgusts me more."
Tessa's last vestiges of composure evaporated, but she committed fully to her deception. "I didn't know! How could I possibly not be your daughter? Someone must have manipulated you. It's Raymond, isn't it? I offended him, and now he's trying to destroy me. Mom, please say something—I'm terrified."
Cora cautiously approached the sofa, attempting to soothe Jason. His intimidating presence made her hesitate, and she merely tugged gently at his sleeve.
She spoke up, "Darling, Tessa might be right. Have you heard malicious rumors? Surely this DNA test is fraudulent."
"I personally supervised the testing," Jason replied coldly, snatching up the document and hurling it at Lawrence's face. "Open your eyes and see what this impostor has done with your encouragement!"
Lawrence flinched from the blow but shared Cora's skepticism. "Dad, I'll have my people conduct another DNA test. We can have results within the hour."
Jason's bitter laugh was chilling. "By all means."
Lawrence collected hair samples from both Jason and Tessa, instructing his staff to rush the testing through priority channels. He remained kneeling, while Tessa's face betrayed her mounting anxiety.
Until the new results arrived, she needed to strengthen her position.
Choking back tears, Tessa said, "Dad, is this about my unauthorized trip to Silver Bay City? Are you teaching me a lesson? I'm truly sorry—I'll never associate with those questionable friends again."
Her voice cracked with emotion. "I'll follow your guidance from now on. Lawrence, Mom, I promise I'll behave. I'm just so frightened. Dad used to love me so much—how could he change so suddenly?"
Her heart-wrenching sobs moved Lawrence deeply.
Lawrence comforted her, "Tessa, please don't cry. The test results aren't back yet."
"Lawrence, I'm terrified."
"Don't worry. You are my sister."
Throughout this performance, Jason remained silent. He could easily see through Tessa's theatrics. Having just experienced the devastation of losing his biological daughter, he had no patience for anyone's company.
He simply withdrew the photograph recovered from the crash site, staring at it with quiet intensity.
Cora stretched her neck trying to glimpse the image, but retreated when met with Jason's icy glare.
