Chapter 271 Your Hand is on the Plans
Selena stepped up, all business-like.
"You've seen the original plans, but there've been some tweaks on the construction side, so I thought I'd update this part."
She pointed to where the original column was, not even glancing at Olivia, totally focused on her plans.
Olivia's eyes narrowed the moment she saw Selena.
Is this the designer Sofia mentioned?
Olivia thought, 'She's really pretty. I should probably give her a heads-up.'
She wanted to grab Raymond's hand, but he reached for Selena's plans just then.
Olivia ended up grabbing air, awkwardly pulling her hand back and glaring at Selena.
Selena didn't notice, just waiting for Raymond to speak.
Raymond held the plans in one hand, the other resting on the black office desk. His wrist bones showed, veins popping as he gripped a pen.
He must work out a lot.
Raymond wasn't really looking at the plans; his eyes were on her. Seeing she hadn't noticed Olivia, he frowned.
"What happened on the construction side?"
"Some columns need to go, which will mess with the lighting I designed. It'll get more sunlight."
Most designers wouldn't care about lighting, but Selena, with her art background, was picky about it.
That's why her designs always pleased even the fussiest clients.
Before Raymond could say anything, Olivia jumped in, "Raymond, let me check out the site. You know I'm an artist. Maybe seeing the place will spark some ideas. Plus, I want to be part of this house's design."
She clung to Raymond's arm again.
Raymond put down the plans.
"Is that okay?" he kept his eyes on Selena, waiting for her answer.
Selena was surprised. Why ask her? Olivia was the lady of Manston Manor and had every right.
"Sure, I can take Miss Stone there now."
Raymond's lips tightened, and he gripped the plans harder, his knuckles turning white.
A few seconds later, he put down the plans and said, "Olivia, you can go."
Olivia looked shocked. She thought she'd be turned down since Raymond hated people messing with his stuff.
"Don't worry. I'll come up with something great!"
Olivia was thrilled. If she was involved in the design, she'd definitely live there.
She raised her chin at Selena. "Let's go. Raymond has a meeting, so let's not bother him."
Selena nodded and reached for the plans on the table. But Raymond's hand was still on them, stopping her.
She looked up, confused, and met his gaze.
Her heart skipped a beat, and she quickly looked away.
She tugged at the plans again, but his fingers still held them down.
Olivia was at the door, getting impatient. "Come on, what are you waiting for?"
Selena bit her lip and whispered, "Raymond, your hand's on the plans."
She felt like Raymond was doing it on purpose.
Doing this in front of his first love made things awkward, and she felt a bit flustered.
Raymond raised an eyebrow and finally moved his hand, like it was an accident.
Selena grabbed the plans without looking at him. The tension made her ears hot, and she hurried out.
