Chapter 1464 Mario is Actually on the Outer Island
Back at Emilio's small house, Selena saw that Emilio had already returned from school. He mentioned that the school had elected a new principal, but Selena didn't care about the details.
That evening, just as she was about to step outside to get some fresh air, someone suddenly covered her mouth.
The person was strong and dragged her backward.
She caught a whiff of a strong, metallic smell of blood, and then heard the sound of something heavy hitting the ground behind her.
She turned around and used her phone's flashlight to see what was happening. Her eyes widened in shock.
Mario!
Mario was on the island.
She quickly called Emilio out, and together they helped the unconscious man into the house.
Mario was seriously injured, and he was wearing a hospital gown.
Emilio took one look and recognized it immediately.
"That's a psychiatric hospital gown. The patients sent there have very severe symptoms. Selena, is this your friend?"
Selena was surprised. Had Mario been mistakenly sent to a psychiatric hospital during the past few days?
Emilio's face turned serious.
"We need to change his clothes quickly. That hospital has strict management. Even if a patient escapes to the ends of the earth, they'll be brought back."
"Why?"
"Because the patients there have severe violent tendencies and are extremely dangerous. You should send your friend back, or he'll definitely hurt you when he wakes up."
Selena turned away. "Emilio, please help him change his clothes and burn the ones he's wearing."
With that, she went outside.
Emilio closed the door, looked at the sleeping Mario, and sighed softly. He quickly grabbed some of his own clothes and dressed Mario in them.
After changing Mario's clothes, he called out to Selena from the doorway.
Selena came in and checked Mario. He didn't have any external injuries, so the blood smell must have come from his clothes. Had he been in a fight?
Mario didn't wake up until noon the next day.
Selena walked in with a bowl of porridge, and their eyes met.
Mario's eyes lit up, and he immediately jumped out of bed, barefoot, and hugged her tightly.
Selena frowned and was about to push him away, but he let go first and excitedly shouted, "Selena!"
Selena's mouth twitched, and her face darkened.
"Mario, what kind of game are you playing?"
Mario's eyes were full of innocence, and he even grabbed her hand.
"Selena, Selena."
Emilio walked in from outside and saw Mario's condition.
"Did your friend have any mental health issues before?"
Selena was about to shake her head but then remembered Mario's connection to Christopher.
"Selena, it doesn't matter if he has a mental illness or not. From the looks of it, he was probably abused in the psychiatric hospital, which caused his mental breakdown. Treating him on the island is impossible. The medical facilities here are poor, and if the psychiatric hospital finds out he's here, they'll spare no expense to bring him back. Even if Valencia intervenes, it won't help. The people in that hospital aren't normal."
Selena didn't care about Mario's fate, but she had to consider Christopher.
She took a deep breath and called Valencia.
"Mr. Warner, any news on Raymond today?"
"No."
"Please arrange for me to get to the main island as soon as possible. I have a problem here that needs urgent attention."
As she finished speaking, she saw Mario running outside to the yard, where he started pulling at the grass.
"Mario, what are you doing?"
Mario ignored her and continued pulling out the grass until the yard was clean.
Selena turned on the TV, and it was broadcasting news about the psychiatric hospital.
They reported that a high-profile patient had escaped. This person was extremely dangerous, and anyone who saw him should report it immediately.
The photo on the screen was unmistakably Mario's face.
Selena's frown deepened as she heard Mario's voice from the yard.
"Selena, look at this!"
He ran inside excitedly, holding a small flower in his hand.
"Isn't it pretty? Isn't it pretty?"
It seemed he wouldn't stop asking until she answered.
