Chapter 1613 What If We Kill Him?

Raymond had already returned to the core research lab, bringing back the vial of serum he had taken earlier.

Seeing 00 there, he knew Manuel wouldn't last much longer.

Sure enough, half an hour later, news came that Manuel's room had caught fire, and he hadn't made it out.

Raymond immediately found Calla and asked if she was satisfied with the outcome.

"Before the fire started, he was blinded. He must have watched the flames slowly surround him. Dr. Griffin, let's talk about our escape plan."

They had been in there for so long, and Selena was still waiting outside, pregnant. She must be worried sick.

Besides, the sooner they destroyed the research base, the sooner he could lift his wanted status in Stellaria.

Calla was about to speak, looking at the pile of reagents in front of her, when she felt the ground shake slightly.

She glanced at Raymond, frowning. "Did you feel that tremor just now?"

Raymond hadn't felt anything.

Calla's expression grew serious. "This base has been here for many years. I've always hoped for an earthquake to destroy everything here."

But if an earthquake really did happen, most people here wouldn't survive.

The slight tremor made her uneasy.

She was always sensitive to these things.

"Dr. Griffin, are you worried about an earthquake?" Raymond asked.

"Yes, but this base has been stable for over a century without any earthquakes. Raymond, you said you have people outside, right? The moment we leave, you need to have them ready to pick us up. Otherwise, we won't make it out alive; we're too big a target."

Especially with Calla herself disappearing, the research base would stop at nothing to capture them.

Calla had only fully awakened today. Before, she just felt the need to leave and made various preparations, but she didn't know why.

Now she knew. She had to find her daughter.

But she still couldn't remember her true identity, the most crucial piece of information.

Apart from being the organization's saint, she couldn't recall anything about the Smith family.

She couldn't even remember her two sons.

"I understand. Leave the extraction to me. The most important thing now is how to get out of here."

Calla opened a nearby cabinet, revealing a hidden compartment filled with explosives.

Raymond's eyes widened in surprise. How much had she stockpiled?

These materials must have been painstakingly gathered from countless experiments, slowly accumulating over time.

But explosives alone wouldn't be enough to escape.

"Besides these, have your people create chaos in every area. The twenty council members are all inside the research base. Their badges form a special code, a master key that unlocks every door."

These members were fiercely loyal to the research base. Getting their badges would be nearly impossible.

No wonder no one had ever successfully escaped.

Calla pulled up images of the council members, the last photo showing Zaid's face, her expression darkening.

"I never liked his look. I vetoed his council membership last time, but he still made it."

So now Zaid was the youngest council member, having passed the high-level approval, with the badge already in his possession.

Raymond looked at Zaid's face, feeling a sense of disorientation, as if everything that happened in Silver Bay City was just a dream.

They used to be friends, but now he couldn't recognize the person in front of him.

Calla opened Zaid's file.

There wasn't much to see; it was sparse and uninformative. She already knew what she needed to know.

Looking at his face, memories flashed through her mind, her expression darkening further. "I knew him before. He's very ambitious. With him as a council member, we'll have a hard time. He's meticulous, not easily fooled. The badge is pinned to his chest."

"What if we kill him?"

Raymond asked, and she looked up at him.
