Chapter 162 That Face Is Definitely Seductive
Since Sofia didn't call out Selena by name, Selena just acted like it wasn't about her and strolled past with all the grace in the world.
Sofia thought she was being super obvious, but Selena just brushed her off.
Sofia hurried forward, only to see Selena already knocking on Raymond's office door.
From inside, Raymond's voice came, "Come in."
Selena walked in, leaving Sofia fuming outside the door.
Sofia rushed up so fast she almost smacked her nose on the closing door. She took a few steps back, trying to steady herself.
She nearly ground her teeth to dust, glaring at the office door. She let out a cold laugh; it looked like she needed to call Olivia again.
Sofia walked to the corner and dialed Olivia's number.
Olivia picked up quickly, her voice gentle. "Sofia, what's up this time? Is Raymond giving you trouble at work?"
"Olivia, it's designer I mentioned last time. She's at Montague Group to see Raymond again today. And I forgot to tell you, she even followed Raymond to his hotel and bought him cufflinks worth two hundred grand. Olivia, if you don't come back soon, she might just steal him away," Sofia said.
A flicker of malice crossed Olivia's eyes, and she frowned. "What does she look like?"
"That face is definitely seductive."
Olivia felt a bit uneasy. She and Raymond had been in a cold war for a while. Even though it was time to patch things up, what if a beautiful woman showed up and caught his eye?
But then she remembered Raymond saying he wouldn't be interested in other women, and she felt a bit better.
Raymond had never had any scandals over the years. Even though he was married, his wife at home was just for show. He hadn't even touched her.
How could a guy like that fall for someone else so easily?
But Olivia still couldn't shake off what Sofia said.
She replied, "Alright, Sofia, I'll have someone send over some cufflinks right away. You give them to Raymond now. The courier will be there in ten minutes. Do you remember the brand of the cufflinks that designer bought?"
Sofia remembered the brand clearly and told Olivia.
Olivia acted fast. Sure enough, in ten minutes, someone called Sofia to pick up the package.
Sofia was so eager to show up Selena that she practically sprinted to get the package.
Inside the office, Selena was busy handing all the documents to Raymond for review.
Raymond looked them over for a bit and then signed.
"Mr. Montague, aren't you going to check the site?" Selena asked.
Usually, the owner should be there on the first day of construction.
But Raymond's status was special. Honestly, in the time it would take, he could probably make enough to buy another house.
Raymond's expression was indifferent. "No need."
"This time, the construction team is Cornerstone Construction. I've already signed a contract with them, and they can start right away. If Mr. Montague has no objections to the materials, I can leave now. I'll gradually provide the rest of the furniture and materials," Selena continued.
"Okay," Raymond nodded lightly.
Raymond's eyes were on the computer, but he was a bit distracted.
It had rained all night last night, and he had trouble sleeping.
He usually slept well unless he had to stay up late for work.
But last night, for some reason, he kept thinking that the maid seemed very familiar, very much like Selena, especially her scent.
Raymond asked himself; he had had quite a few close encounters with Selena, although they were all accidental. But he had come to recognize her scent—a light fragrance from her shampoo, as she didn't like wearing perfume.
But how could Selena possibly appear at Ashbourne Manor?
He began to wonder if his recent frequent interactions with her had given him an illusion.
It seemed necessary to distance himself from her.
