Chapter 331 Then I Can Also Find a Man

Selena's neck was still wrapped in bandages.

As the elevator doors closed, Raymond asked, "How'd you hurt your neck?"

"Accidentally," she replied, her tone turning cold as she avoided his gaze.

The elevator stopped on the first floor, and she went off alone to handle the discharge paperwork.

Raymond watched her walk away, frowning slightly. She always seemed to be on her own.

Just as Raymond was about to get in his car, he saw her standing by the roadside, trying to hail a taxi.

Raymond sat in his car, hands on the steering wheel, tapping his fingers lightly. He wondered how she could be so carefree, with no memory of that night at all.

He rubbed his brow, then slowly drove over, rolled down the window, and showed his handsome profile. "Need a ride?"

Selena was a bit surprised he hadn't left.

It was tough to get a taxi here. Selena asked, "Rose Garden. Mr. Montague, could you give me a lift?"

Raymond said, "Get in."

Selena opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat.

The car moved forward a bit and stopped at a traffic light. It was lunch break rush hour; traffic was heavy, and cars were crawling.

Raymond asked, "Why'd you hit Olivia?"

Raymond didn't know her well, but she didn't seem quite irritable.

Breaking one of Olivia's ribs was a big deal. The surveillance footage showed she didn't hold back when she hit Olivia in the stomach.

Even though Olivia had started it, that slap hadn't landed on her face. Selena's retaliation was over the top.

Selena was upset about those two men and her own injury, but she couldn't tell Raymond that without evidence.

Selena said, "Miss Stone looks down on me and is always causing trouble. At the slightest nudge from Sofia, she believes it and plans to act against me."

Selena didn't realize her words sounded a bit like tattling.

Raymond's long fingers gripped the steering wheel calmly.

In fact, Selena was grateful he hadn't really held it against her. After all, Olivia was his first love, but he only asked Selena to apologize to Olivia.

Selena said, "Mr. Montague, let someone else handle the design for Manston Manor."

Otherwise, Olivia would keep causing trouble for her.

Olivia had probably realized by now that she was at a disadvantage. She broke a rib and suffered a stomach illness, only to get an apology and $30,000 in compensation.

To get revenge, Olivia would definitely become more aggressive in the future.

Selena said, "I'll have someone give Sofia a dismissal notice."

There was no emotion in his eyes, and he sat very straight.

Selena's body stiffened; maybe it was the cramped space of the car, but she strangely felt a faint hint of something quite intimate. It was as if he was responding to her tattling?

Selena turned to look at him, but he was just staring ahead.

After the car started moving again, Raymond asked, "You were in the hospital alone; Where's your husband?"

Selena was confused at abrupt change of the topic for a moment.

After realizing it, she replied, "He's quite busy."

Raymond said, "You seem to trust him a lot."

Selena said, "After all, we're legally married, and he's my family in name. He has things he wants to pursue, and of course, I support him."

Her delicate eyebrows arched slightly, and her eyes were clear and bright. Raymond glanced at her, maybe because the sunlight fell just right, casting a shadow on her eyelashes.

He remembered the scene when she drunkenly called out "honey, it tickles," and his fingers unconsciously tightened, his wrist bones tensed.

Raymond looked cold and unapproachable, but in his mind, he was thinking about pressing her beneath him.

Unaware of his intense desire, Selena only felt the space was cramped.

Raymond suddenly spoke in a hoarse voice, "Even if he cheats on you, you don't mind?"

Raymond really didn't understand how Lucas had bewitched her.

Selena smiled. "Then I can find a man, and it would be even."

She said it casually, but he took it seriously.

Raymond's Adam's apple bobbed twice. He was dressed in a perfectly tailored suit, looking immaculate, but beneath the white shirt, his muscular back still bore several glaring scratch marks. They were left by Selena, but she had no memory of it.
