Chapter 80 Did I Hit a Nerve?
Megan furrowed her brow, realizing there was no other option.
Han, who was driving, couldn't take it anymore and said, "Brian, your leg's messed up, and it's still over two hours to Ridgefield. How long do you think it'll take to walk there? Doesn't Megan's friend have a motorcycle? Megan can ride it."
Before he could finish, Megan snapped, "The sun's too harsh; it hurts my skin. I don't want to ride the motorcycle. My friend doesn't like sharing a car with others, so I let him go ahead. It's fine; Brian can walk for exercise. Han, just drive."
Han was really annoyed but saw that Brian had already gotten out of the car, so he shut up.
Brian got out, feeling dizzy from the scorching sun, and was too embarrassed to call someone else to pick him up, so he decided to walk back.
Back at Harmony Garden, Selena got out of the car and waited a bit before the car behind them arrived.
Several officials and Han got out, and the last person to step out was Megan.
Megan saw Raymond standing in front of the black car and immediately froze, her face turning bright red with excitement.
Raymond was definitely the most handsome guy Megan had ever seen. He had great taste, and his suit made him look both handsome and classy. If Raymond could date her, she'd do anything!
Feeling a surge of excitement, Megan quickly walked over to Raymond, greeting, "Mr. Montague, right? Thanks for visiting Ridgefield. Actually, there are a few more beautiful spots here. If you don't mind, I can show you around this afternoon and treat you to a meal."
Megan's gaze was locked on Raymond, her intentions clear.
Raymond's face immediately darkened. The officials exchanged glances, sensing trouble, and quickly pulled Megan aside.
Megan struggled, "What are you doing? Can't I even talk to Mr. Montague? Didn't you say in the car that Mr. Montague would be staying here for a day? It's only right for me to show Ridgefield's hospitality by treating him to a meal."
Megan's eyes were filled with greed, sometimes looking at Raymond's fancy car, sometimes at hiss face.
If she could date Raymond, she'd be set for life and wouldn't have to stay in this dump called Ridgefield.
Raymond stayed calm, not bothering to argue with her, and started to walk inside.
Megan, unwilling to give up, was about to grab his sleeve but was blocked by Selena.
Selena frowned, "Where's Uncle Brian? The person who should be in this car is Brian, right?"
Megan rolled her eyes, "He's walking."
"It's 96.8 degrees outside, and you let Uncle Brian walk alone? Megan, you're a jerk."
Megan didn't care, pushing Selena aside to chase after Raymond.
Having finally met a guy like Raymond, she couldn't let him go.
Selena grabbed her wrist and twisted it behind her, coldly saying, "Go back and bring Uncle Brian back."
Megan's face twisted in pain, and she started cursing, "That old man's always been healthy. Walking won't hurt him. Besides, he wanted to walk. Who can you blame? He likes to accommodate me. What business is it of yours?"
Megan struggled but couldn't break free, then looked at her friend on the motorcycle and shouted, "What are you standing there for? Help me!"
The guy got off the bike, seeing Megan being bullied, and angrily rushed over, "Bitch! Do you know where you are? Ridgefield is my turf. How dare you hurt Megan? Let her go now!"
Selena still held Megan tightly, and the guy raised his hand to hit her.
But before the slap could land, someone suddenly grabbed his wrist.
The guy's face turned pale, but he didn't want to admit he was scared, swallowing hard a few times, "Who are you? What business is it of yours if I teach this bitch a lesson?"
Selena followed the elegant, slender hand with her gaze, only to find that it belonged to Raymond.
Raymond glanced at the guy, expressionless, and twisted his wrist, throwing him aside.
With this, a few people who had followed quickly called security to drag the guy away.
Selena also let go of Megan. Megan was about to curse but saw the security guards coming over and said resentfully, "You're gonna regret this. Just wait till I get back."
Selena had no time to deal with her and turned to Raymond, "Mr. Montague, thank you."
Raymond glanced at her, took the disinfectant wipes handed by John, wiped his hands, and turned to walk inside.
Selena also planned to find Brian, but Megan stopped her this time.
Megan shouted with anger, "Don't think you're so great just because you went to college. I heard from my dad that you're married, and your husband doesn't even like you, always flirting with other women. You're really pitiful. You managed to raise your social status, but you're still living like a widow, just like me. What are you so proud of? James has a new family and doesn't like you. Otherwise, why would he have let you come to Ridgefield to study back then..."
Selena coldly interrupted her, "Have you said enough?"
The more uncomfortable Selena was, the more pleased Megan felt, "Did I hit a nerve? My husband ran away, but isn't your husband just a cheating bastard?"
