Chapter 253 If She Gets Divorced, I'll Definitely Pursue Her
Soon enough, word got around that Olivia was back in town. Everyone who knew about her history with Raymond started placing bets on when he'd ditch his wife and get back with Olivia.
Right then, Caterlington was chilling at a bar with his buddies, all of whom were in the know, so they got the scoop first.
The Stone family wasn't exactly top-tier, just your run-of-the-mill rich folks. But Olivia's past with Raymond had already earned her a spot in the Silver Bay City elite.
"So, when do you think Olivia and Raymond will tie the knot?" someone asked, sparking a flurry of gossip.
"She's his first love, right? I bet they'll be hitched within a month. And Raymond's wife? She must be a total eyesore. Why else hasn't she shown up at any public events? Even at Raymond's welcome-back party, she was MIA."
"Anyone here know her? She's been hiding for three years, so she must be really hard on the eyes."
"I heard she saved William's life. Just dumb luck. Plenty of people would kill for that chance."
"I'm worried she won't leave even if they try to kick her out. It's the Montague family and Raymond, after all."
Caterlington sipped his red wine, finding the chatter amusing.
"Why do y'all think his wife ain't looking for a divorce? The Montague family might be big, and Raymond's a looker, but some women just ain't into that. Even if you stack up cash in front of her, she might not budge. Maybe she's planning to leave quietly."
Everyone laughed at Caterlington's take.
A woman chimed in, "Stop kidding. If Raymond hadn't been with Olivia early on, the number of women chasing him would've broken down the Montague family's door. When he first got with Olivia, so many girls cried their eyes out. I heard the bars were packed that night with girls we know. So, it must've been that woman hanging onto Raymond, but there's no way he likes her."
She spoke with such conviction, clearly jealous of the girl who married Raymond.
Caterlington swirled his wine, seeing everyone look down on Raymond's wife, and grinned.
"I've met her."
Everyone went silent, eyes wide with surprise.
Caterlington took a leisurely sip, smiling. "If she gets divorced, I'll be the first to go after her."
The room erupted in boos, thinking he was joking.
Caterlington was known for being a playboy, always chasing supermodels or celebrities, with sky-high standards. He'd play around and then pay the women to leave.
If he was serious, then Mrs. Montague must be a knockout.
But if she was a beauty, why wouldn't she show up in public?
"We all know you have high standards. You must be joking, right?"
Caterlington had recently taken over the company and, after Reid's downfall, had aggressively acquired Reid's company, making a name for himself.
At that moment, he thought of Selena's face, full of interest.
"I'd do anything to spend one night with her."
The room got even quieter, and someone started to jeer.
"Are you planning to steal Raymond's wife?"
"I asked Raymond directly. He said if I like her, I can have her."
He sat down, resting his head on one hand. "But I'm afraid by the time he realizes it, he won't want to give her up."
The room was filled with boos again, and everyone was sure Caterlington was joking.
After all, besides Olivia, there was no woman Raymond wouldn't give up.
Everyone knew he was super picky about relationships. When he was with Olivia, they didn't even sleep together. It was only during a recent game of truth or dare that he admitted he had his first sexual experience not long ago.
How abstinent could he be?
Among these rich second-generation heirs, who hadn't been surrounded by women for ages? People came and went, and it was no longer the same crowd.
The socialites were the same. Once people had everything, they started seeking other thrills.
Someone like Raymond, who was only interested in work, was an anomaly.
Olivia was just lucky to catch his eye back then.
