Chapter 1374 Mr. Montague, This Is Too Risky

The psychologist said, "There's no way out unless we find someone better than that hypnotist. I've been in the underground fighting scene for years, and I can barely remember any top hypnotists. The one who gave Ms. Fair the instructions is probably in the top five. Anyone that skilled would've been scooped up by the government ages ago. We wouldn't be able to reach them."

Raymond rubbed his temples. "Got it."

The man nodded and left.

Raymond opened the door in front of him and walked over to Selena.

Selena was still anxious about losing her phone. When she saw him, she instinctively took a step back.

Raymond asked, "Selena, how about we catch a movie today?"

She nodded, unsure of his intentions.

He wrapped his arm around her and led her to the spacious living room.

Selena sat on the couch, feeling uncomfortable in the vast space.

Raymond asked, "What do you wanna watch?"

She couldn't answer. She thought about saying, "Whatever you like," but what did Raymond like to watch?

Had they ever watched a movie together before?

"I don't really feel like watching a movie."

"Then what do you wanna do?"

"I don't know."

She truly didn't know. She felt like she was trapped in a chaotic room, completely devoid of self-awareness.

"I'll take you downstairs to have some fun."

He took her hand and went back to the room to change her clothes.

When they walked downstairs, she saw a lot of people. Most of them were wearing masks, with only a few exceptions.

She instinctively clung tightly to Raymond until they reached a long table.

The surrounding noise was filled with the sounds of people chatting and dice being thrown.

She was pressed to sit on his lap, and a pile of chips was placed in front of Raymond.

"Selena, remember when you played Texas Hold'em in Silver Bay City?"

"I remember."

Back then, Raymond didn't know she was his wife. He was still well-known for his consistent losing streak in gambling.

And then?

She didn't know. She only remembered the scenes, but the emotions from that time had completely vanished, as if she were an observer watching someone else's life.

Raymond held her hand and placed a bet.

He said, "You won a lot of money back then, sharp-tongued and quick-witted."

"Really?"

"Now I'm giving you the chance to place the bets. You know how to count cards, right? Help me win a round."

Raymond's hands wrapped around her waist, his chin resting on her shoulder, his tone indulgent.

Selena's cheeks flushed as she tried to recall how she had won back then.

But she had forgotten. She had forgotten how to count cards, how to place bets.

Her fingertips trembled slightly, and a wave of panic washed over her.

Raymond's hands tightened around her waist. "Don't rush. Take your time."

A crowd had gathered around the table, drawn by Selena's striking appearance. There were occasional jeers.

But when they saw the mask on Raymond's face, they immediately stopped teasing.

Anyone who frequented the underground fighting scene knew what that mask represented.

'God' had never had a woman by his side before, and now he was openly bringing one to a poker game.

Selena's palms were sweaty, and she lost the first round.

She heard the dealer announce that the lost chips were worth three billion dollars.

Her body stiffened, and she instinctively tried to get up from Raymond's lap.

The stakes were too high. She didn't want to play anymore.

Raymond's hands still held her tightly. "Keep going."

"Raymond, I've lost too much of your money."

"I don't care."

"I won't win."

The environment made her extremely uneasy.

Raymond, in front of everyone, began to kiss her neck.

Her cheeks turned even redder, and she gripped the remaining chips on the table tightly.

Raymond saw her lower her eyelids, her lashes trembling with anxiety.

He exhaled softly, feeling a pang of sympathy. "Alright, we won't play anymore."

He pulled her into his arms, ignoring the chips on the table, and took her to the elevator.

As soon as they entered, he kissed her deeply.

Back on the seventh floor, she felt much calmer. She held his hand and asked cautiously, "Raymond, can I go see Dr. Barnes?"

The more anxious she felt, the stronger her desire to see Victor became.

Raymond looked at her face, seeing the confusion deep in her eyes.

After a long while, he smiled. "Sure, I'll take you to see him the day after tomorrow. But for the next two days, you have to spend time with me. Understand?"

The anxiety on her face instantly disappeared, and her smile became brighter. "Okay."

Thinking about seeing Victor, she was no longer afraid. She watched movies and read books with him.

When he had meetings, she stayed by his side, nodding off but refusing to sleep alone.

Raymond was right. She had been tamed into a pet that knew how to please, without any sharp teeth left.

He held her in his arms, sighed softly, and asked the person next to him, "So, is that method feasible?"

The man answered, "Mr. Montague, it's too risky."

"Just tell me the success rate."

"No one can say for sure."

Raymond stroked Selena's head and sighed softly. "Understood."
