Chapter 305 To Put It Bluntly, He Just Wanted to Sleep with Her
Selena didn't bring any clothes with her. Yet she was drenched and had nothing to change into.
Fuming, Selena was about to swim to shore when Caterlington grabbed her waist and pulled her back.
"Penny, if I hadn't brought you over, do you think Sofia and Olivia would let you off? They've been trash-talking you all over the socialite scene," Caterlington said.
But they were talking about Raymond's wife.
Selena stiffened and squinted at him. "Even so, you didn't have to actually throw me into the water."
Caterlington had his reasons; he just wanted to see her wet. And it worked.
He leaned in, whispering in her ear. "And Olivia probably doesn't know you're Raymond's wife, right? But she's planning to mess with you because you're Raymond's designer. If you flirt with me now, it'll throw her off and make her back off. What do you think?"
His breath on her ear made Selena uncomfortable.
"Look upstairs," Caterlington said.
Selena frowned and looked up.
Raymond was there, a cigarette between his fingers, watching them lazily.
Alex and Paul stood beside him, and it was clear they'd been there for a while.
The pool was right below the balcony where they stood; Raymond had seen everything since Selena was thrown into the water.
But Raymond didn't know what they were talking about. He just thought they looked unusually close.
Selena's face turned red with anger. Was Caterlington doing this on purpose?
Caterlington shamelessly leaned in again. "Raymond's upstairs too. Seeing me so close to you, he probably already suspects us in an affair. Even if he had some feelings for you as a designer, wouldn't he have dispelled them by now? Olivia won't focus on you anymore either. It was great, right? Penny, you didn't tell Raymond your identity because you want to leave easily in the future, right?"
"So, I should thank you?" Selena snapped sarcastically.
Caterlington chuckled, twirling her hair around his finger. "If you want to think that way, it's fine. Just be with me for a while after you get divorced."
In other words, Caterlington just wanted to sleep with her.
Selena was furious, but Olivia and her group had already entered the pool. Their swimsuits were particularly revealing, with very little fabric.
Compared to Selena, who was soaking in her everyday clothes, she felt completely out of place.
Olivia stared straight at Selena and sneered. Sofia, standing next to her, couldn't resist mocking. "Shameless, she's already married and still cozying up to Caterlington."
Sofia tugged at Olivia. "Olivia, I told you she's a bitch, messing around with every man she meets. Keeping her around Raymond is trouble."
"Sofia," Olivia said in a low voice, "go bribe a waiter and put some drugs in her food later."
It would be best if Selena couldn't help but strip down in public. By the time she sobered up, she wouldn't have the cheek to stay in Silver Bay City!
Sofia's lips curved into a smile. "Olivia, good thinking. I'm on it."
Sofia sneaked away and indeed bribed a waiter.
There were a few waiters serving at the pool, occasionally offering wine, fruit, pastries, and so on.
Soon, a glass of light blue wine was placed in front of Selena.
Caterlington put the glass in front of her. "Drink it."
Selena didn't drink, so Caterlington leaned closer.
"What's wrong? Want me to feed you?" he teased.
Selena thought he might actually do it, so she tilted her head back and drank up the wine. She choked and coughed a couple of times.
Caterlington quickly tried to pat her back, but Selena pushed him away.
"Mr. Walsh, Emily likes you. Even if you solve my problem tonight, you'll cause me new trouble. Let's just leave it at that," Selena said.
Anyway, Raymond and Olivia had already seen this scene, so there was no need to do anything else.
"Penny, you're burning bridges," Caterlington said.
Selena ignored him and swam directly to the shore.
But halfway there, she started to feel hot.
Selena frowned and looked at herself after getting out of the pool. She was completely soaked and looked very disheveled.
Selena took out her phone and found it was blacked out. What bad luck!
Since she came with Mia, even if she went back now, she had no money for a cab. She scuttled off to the dessert area to find Mia.
Luckily, Mia was also looking for her. Then Mia took her upstairs to change clothes, complaining about Caterlington.
"He's too much. How could he just throw you into the pool? If you're not feeling well, just sleep here for a while. I'll bring you some seafood later," Mia said.
Mia was a kind girl. She made sure Selena was okay before leaving.
But in fact, Selena was feeling very uncomfortable, hot all over.
