Chapter 352 My Husband Is Super Busy
Selena stood there, rooted to the spot. If she didn't see Max was at Ashbourne Manor, she might've bought into it.
Why on earth would Raymond hold a dog hostage?
She couldn't help but chuckle and quickly followed him. "Max is really missing. You might be right. Where did you see him? I'll go check."
Raymond stopped. He was in a white shirt and black suit, his jawline sharp and tense, his voice clear. "Go look for him with your husband. Maybe you'll find him."
Selena was speechless and stopped in her tracks.
Raymond had already reached the elevator. Selena had no choice but to follow. "My husband is super busy."
Her tone was helpless, and her face showed it, too.
Raymond's eyes were cold and emotionless. "Then let him help you when he's free. I have a meeting in five minutes. If it's not about my house, don't come to me."
The elevator opened, and Raymond stepped in, taking the private elevator alone.
Selena stood at the door, watching the door of the elevator close. She started to wonder why Raymond would detain Max, but no matter how hard she thought, she couldn't figure it out.
In the end, she took out her phone and texted Fiona.
Selena: [Keep Max there for now, but don't let Raymond know it's the dog from Ashbourne Manor. Follow his lead.]
Fiona, who had been at Ashbourne Manor for years, got it right away and replied quickly: [Don't worry.]
Selena trusted her. But she also had to act like she was frantically looking for Max.
She posted a missing dog notice on her Instagram, with two pictures of Max.
This was her work account, filled with villa owners she had interacted with before. In no time, the post had over ten comments, all saying they'd help share it.
Among these owners, some had connections with Carter, so Carter saw Selena's missing dog notice through someone else's Instagram.
Mia also saw it and immediately forwarded the message to Raymond.
Mia: [Selena's dog is missing. Can you use your influence to help her?]
She even added a sad emoji.
Mia genuinely liked Selena, especially after catching her and Raymond in that situation last time. She instinctively thought Selena was different to Raymond.
Even if it was just to satisfy each other's needs, it was different.
Raymond looked at the message but didn't reply.
Mia sent another one.
Mia: [Max is so big now. Selena must see him as family and be very anxious. I just added her as a friend, and her Instagram has nothing but this one post.]
Mia also liked Max and wished Raymond would quickly use the Montague family's influence to find Max.
Raymond thought of Selena, who had shown up at the Montague Group early in the morning, and his eyes deepened.
John walked in at that moment. "The meeting's ready."
Raymond got up to go to the meeting room. After thinking for a moment, he called Fiona.
"Keep a close eye on Max. Don't let him get lost again. I'll take him to his owner later."
Fiona was a bit surprised. Raymond had always been indifferent to matters at Ashbourne Manor. Why would he personally call about a dog?
After a realization dawned on her, she glanced at Max, who was frolicking in the villa's hall. "Okay. I understand."
After hanging up, Raymond initially wanted to inform Selena but hesitated and finally put his phone on the table, heading to the meeting room.
Letting her worry a bit wouldn't hurt.
