Chapter 1470 Now We Are Being Watched
Selena had been waiting by Mario's bedside for about half an hour when Emilio walked in, carrying a bag of cold medicine.
"Hey, Selena, I got some stuff for the fever. Check it out."
Selena picked out the two fastest-acting fever reducers and gave them to Mario.
"I just got back from the clinic. The doc can come over and give him a shot if we need it. It'll bring the fever down quicker. I left my number with them. You wanna go that route?"
Selena thought about the numerous needle marks on Mario's arm and slowly shook her head.
"Let's not."
Emilio sat down nearby.
Selena forcefully fed Mario two pills and followed up with half a cup of water.
Mario, still unconscious, coughed a few times and tried to open his eyes but felt too weak.
Selena laid him flat and rubbed her temples.
Emilio asked, "You wanna call someone to take care of him?"
"No need. The fewer people around us, the better. I have a feeling we're being watched."
Though she didn't know the intentions of those watching her, she constantly felt under surveillance.
There were too many things she couldn't understand about Mystic Prison. The place was chaotic, with strict hierarchies, yet oddly united in certain aspects.
Having one more person around just added to the danger.
She got up to close the window and noticed Emilio's hand was bleeding.
"What happened?"
"I got scratched by a branch on my way in."
Selena rummaged through the newly bought medicine and was relieved to find it included treatment for external injuries.
She took out a disinfectant spray and applied it to his hand.
"Emilio, are you worried about that tattoo? Don't worry. Once we find Raymond, I'll definitely have a way to deal with it."
After disinfecting, she applied some ointment.
Suddenly, the room's lights went out.
Selena glanced out the window and saw that the entire island was dark.
"What's going on?"
Before she could finish her sentence, she heard a noise from above and instinctively pushed Emilio aside.
The chandelier crashed down right where they had been sitting.
Selena reacted quickly but her ankle got hit, sending a sharp pain through her.
Emilio was unharmed but smelled blood.
"Selena?"
Selena gasped in pain.
"I'm okay. The chandelier fell. I looked outside; the whole island is out of power. Let's wait and see. Someone should come soon."
Emilio stood up and used his phone's light to check her ankle.
Her ankle was nearly crushed by the chandelier and was bleeding heavily.
The chandelier in the villa was large, and its weight was significant.
Emilio moved the chandelier aside and grabbed the disinfectant spray, but the wound was too deep. It needed stitches.
He frowned, his expression hidden in the darkness, allowing him to drop his guard and smirk.
"You didn't need to push me. I could have dodged it."
"You haven't trained in combat. How could you dodge it?"
Selena clutched her ankle, sweat dripping from her forehead.
"Emilio, call that doctor back. The wound needs stitches. Disinfecting alone won't stop the bleeding. Plus, I'm pregnant. The anesthetic has to be safe for pregnant women."
Emilio immediately took out his phone and called the doctor.
The doctor arrived quickly and stitched up the wound.
The room remained dark. Emilio stood in the shadows, his hands covered in Selena's blood.
He frowned and went to the bathroom to wash off the blood, his expression showing a hint of disgust.
