Chapter 368 Why Should I Help Her?

Selena plopped down next to Caterlington, right in the spot he’d saved for her, which was conveniently next to Raymond.

It was pretty obvious Caterlington was up to no good.

Earlier, when they were sitting across the booth, Grace had shot her a few looks. Grace, with her fancy upbringing, didn’t say anything mean, but her attitude screamed that she wasn’t a fan.

Selena didn’t expect Caterlington to joined in another party after just done with one.

Caterlington was a pro at making things lively, and soon enough, the table was buzzing. He steered the convo towards Apex Holdings Group.

Cornerstone Construction was hosting this shindig to thank Raymond, so as long as everyone was having a good time, it was a win.

With Caterlington’s help, the conversation flowed smoothly.

Alan had heard of Apex Holdings Group and couldn’t help but jump in, “You just snagged a big company. Is he eyeing Apex Holdings Group?”

Caterlington chuckled. “I heard Apex Holdings Group has been teaming up with a bunch of companies lately. It’s wild, considering how tricky they are, that everyone’s on board.”

Other execs joined in.

“Apex Holdings Group’s usual move is to offer clear benefits, right? They usually go after companies in a pinch, so they’re seen as a savior.”

After a few minutes of chatting, Caterlington chuckled again. “I heard the Montague Group blacklisted Apex Holdings Group ages ago. Does Raymond have some dirt on Bert?”

Raymond did have some dirt, but a company like Apex Holdings Group wasn’t something the Montague Group needed to mess with.

He took a sip of his drink and leaned back a bit.

He had this fancy silver watch on his wrist, and the way he held his glass showed off his slender hand.

It was a sight that could easily catch someone’s eye.

Selena glanced a few times before looking away, focusing on Apex Holdings Group.

Caterlington smiled and raised his glass to Raymond. “If you know anything, could you tell Selena? Her husband’s pretty useless and can’t handle her beef with Bert.”

Selena immediately tensed up. Caterlington really loved to stir the pot. If Raymond found out who she was later and remembered this, he might go after the Fair Group.

Just as she was about to defend her husband, Raymond’s gaze turned to her. “You have a beef with Bert?”

Selena’s heart tightened again, worried Raymond would connect it to the Fair family’s company.

But Caterlington jumped in, “Bert’s buddies with my dad. Given my dad’s hobbies, what kind of beef could they have? Back at Silver Bay City Art Institute, didn’t Selena already report that director? These guys were all in cahoots with my dad.”

Although Kross was a real piece of work, his biggest punishment was probably having a son like Caterlington.

At this moment, Selena clearly understood Caterlington’s game.

He casually brought up the Walsh family’s scandal. Kross’s scandal had caused quite a stir in the upper circles, involving Silver Bay City Art Institute and students.

After that, Caterlington naturally took over.

Now, he was bringing up the Walsh family’s issues without hesitation, showing his confidence in his current power, believing such matters wouldn’t affect him.

His words gave Selena the perfect excuse.

Moreover, Caterlington’s words reminded Selena that Bert’s private life was also a mess.

Caterlington smiled. “The evidence you have should be enough to bring down Apex Holdings Group, right? Why not help her out? After all, she’s your designer.”

Raymond’s eyes narrowed, and he said coolly, “Why should I help her?”

The implication was clear: being just a designer wasn’t enough.

This left Caterlington stunned, but Olivia laughed and agreed. “Just a designer? Even if Raymond has evidence, it was the Montague Group that worked hard to dig it up. It shouldn’t be handed out for free to an outsider.”
