Chapter 385 Is This Okay?

Selena glanced to the side; Philip was explaining to the nurse.

"We're his friends. How is he doing?"

"He might have a concussion and needs to be observed. The doctor will have to check him to know for sure. Please wait here."

Philip sat down nearby, his clothes still stained with blood.

Selena took out a check and wrote $70,000.

"Philip, this is for Lucas's medical expenses. I don't know if it's enough, but I have something urgent to attend to and need to leave."

Philip glanced at the check, a hint of disdain in his eyes. Rich people always liked these gestures.

But when he looked up, he reverted to his gentle demeanor in front of Shelley.

"Don't tell Shelley about this. I don't want her to worry."

Selena was anxious about Raymond, fearing that his anger might lead him to suddenly abandon his plans against Apex Holdings Group.

So she didn't notice anything off about Philip. "Don't worry, I won't say anything. Lucas got involved because of me, and I'll apologize to him later."

Philip nodded and took the check."Alright, I'll make sure he gets the money."

Selena hurried out and glanced at her phone while driving.

Of course, there was traffic at this hour. She couldn't help but honk the horn a few times.

What should have been a twenty-minute drive to the hotel turned into a forty-minute one due to the traffic.

Raymond had only given her an hour, and with each passing minute, her heart raced faster.

In her haste, her car was rear-ended, causing her head to hit the steering wheel, almost bringing tears to her eyes.

The scene was chaotic. The driver of the car behind called the police and asked her to wait.

Selena left a business card."Sorry, I have something urgent. Contact me on my phone for the compensation."

With that, she hurriedly walked to a nearby cab.

But in her rush, she twisted her ankle, wincing in pain.

She couldn't afford to care about it and told the cab driver the hotel's location.

After getting out, she handed the driver a hundred-dollar bill, not waiting for change, and quickly walked into the hotel.

She thought, 'When you're having a bad day, even drinking water can make you choke.'

Both elevators had just gone up, and it would take a while for them to come back down. Selena waited anxiously, glancing at the time. She was already five minutes late.

By the time she got into the elevator, she was ten minutes late. Her foot hurt and her body ached from last night's torment, but she rubbed her face to relax before swiping the card to enter the room.

There was a faint smell of alcohol in the room, and Raymond was sitting on the sofa by the window.

Selena closed the door, feeling the intimidating atmosphere stiffen her back.

Raymond glanced at his watch nonchalantly. "You're ten minutes late."

Selena's lips trembled, and she quickly tried to appease him. "I'll go take a shower."

She hurried into the bathroom and locked the door.

She had showered before leaving, but she took another one, dried herself off, and looked at herself in the mirror. Taking a deep breath, she pulled out the white outfit she had hastily packed.

The outfit was barely more than a few scraps of fabric, almost like wearing nothing at all.

She put it on, placed her bag on the wall shelf, hesitated for a few seconds, and then opened the bathroom door.

She didn't put on a coat, just wore the white outfit.

Selena's appearance was of the cool and elegant type, a top-tier beauty, now staring at him unblinkingly.

Raymond had been full of anger, but as the bathroom door opened, accompanied by the steam, she walked out.

"Is this okay?"

Her skin had a rosy glow.

For the first time, Raymond felt the blatant allure of seduction.
