Chapter 1573 Isn't It Easy to Destroy Her?
Shortly after, another message came through from Alex: [The family's starting to discuss your marriage to Elara. Are you really going through with it?]
A second message followed quickly: [Think carefully, Paul. Once you're tied to the Reed family, there's no turning back. Look at Raymond and Selena—they're madly in love, yet there's still no wedding in sight.]
The constant buzzing finally broke Paul's concentration. He picked up his phone, and the last line caught his attention.
Paul: [That's exactly why marrying within your social circle matters. If Raymond had chosen someone from our world, he wouldn't be facing such obstacles.]
As he hit send, a cold clarity settled in his eyes.
It was true—though he'd accepted Raymond and Selena's relationship, had Raymond chosen someone suitable, he'd probably have children by now instead of living abroad.
In their world, social equality would always be paramount.
Especially after meeting Ann's mother tonight. What decent woman could come from such crude stock? The Adams family would never allow him to marry someone like that.
Emily shared this sentiment completely. In her private group chat, she was already ranting about her encounter with Ann's mother.
Ann: [Total trash mouth! Exactly what you'd expect from someone of her background. Kept calling the poor girl a 'whore' right to her face. You should have seen Paul's expression—he looked mortified. Probably his first time encountering someone so vulgar.]
Ann: [I swear, this woman wouldn't qualify to be a servant in our household.]
After sending these messages, Emily applied her nightly face mask. Within minutes, the group chat exploded with activity.
[No wonder Paul can't stand Ann. I doubt her mother even finished school.][She didn't—I checked. The woman only completed elementary school. Imagine that in this day and age!]
[What's surprising about that? Ann herself only went to some no-name college. Everyone in our circle attended prestigious universities, at minimum.]
[She's trying to climb the social ladder without realizing where she comes from.]
The topic of Ann always united these women in collective disdain.
Having discovered Ann's educational background, they were determined to tear her down completely—it made them feel better.
None of them had ever been involved with Paul, so why should Ann?
With her face mask in place, Emily smirked at the messages flooding in.
Emily: [Paul would never consider her seriously. After witnessing Ann embarrass herself repeatedly, he probably regrets ever being involved with her. It's a stain on his life.]
Humming happily, she took screenshots of the conversation and sent them to Elara.
She typed: [Elara, just know we all support you.]
Elara responded quickly with just a blushing emoji, but inwardly she was delighted. She had investigated Ann's family background long ago and found it utterly contemptible.
Unless Paul was blind, how could he possibly be interested in such a woman? Ann was clearly manipulative, taking advantage of Paul's amnesia to worm her way into his life. Unforgivable.
The more Elara thought about it, the more indignant she became. She immediately contacted someone who could help.
"Hello, Lester Harrison? I understand you're meeting with Ann soon," she said smoothly. "I need a favor."
She listened briefly before continuing, "Don't worry, I'll take full responsibility if anything goes wrong."
Her voice took on a confident edge. "I'm about to marry into the Adams family, and Ann has crossed me. Thank you for handling this."
Hanging up, the satisfaction in her eyes deepened. Ann was working in entertainment now, constantly rubbing shoulders with celebrities. Destroying her reputation would be child's play.
