Chapter 262 Secure Mrs. Montague's Position

Sofia felt a bit uneasy just thinking about Selena's face.

She leaned in and whispered to Olivia.

"That designer I mentioned before, she's super close to my cousin-in-law. I always get this vibe that she's trying to seduce him. You gotta watch out."

Olivia was already a bit anxious about other women eyeing Raymond. But after the whole cufflink thing, she felt pretty secure. Still, she couldn't let that designer run wild.

She needed to give her a heads-up.

But no rush.

Olivia, looking all gentle and sweet, was chilling with a bunch of socialites when someone asked. "Olivia, this is your welcome party. Isn't Raymond coming?"

Olivia smiled gracefully, tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, and slowly stood up.

"He just called and said he's on his way."

Right after she said that, the door to the private room swung open, and in walked Raymond and Alex.

Alex was holding a small gift box and handed it to Olivia with a smile.

"Congrats on your return, just a little something for you."

Olivia gave him a playful look and then turned her eyes to Raymond.

Raymond, in a white shirt and black trousers, had his suit jacket draped over his elbow, clearly just coming from another event. He stood there, looking sharp and composed, and pulled out a jewelry box.

A smile instantly lit up Olivia's face.

"You didn't have to. Sit down."

Alex, standing nearby, raised an eyebrow at the gift Raymond had given. It was a pricey necklace, super popular among socialites, worth nearly twenty million dollars.

But for Raymond, money was never an issue; it was the thought that counted.

This gift was clearly picked by John, chosen for its high price.

Alex's expression turned a bit cheeky, and he chuckled. "A twenty-million-dollar gift right off the bat. Raymond is as devoted to Olivia as ever."

Olivia loved hearing that and immediately took Raymond's arm. "Raymond, come sit with me over here."

Alex, being tactful, waved his hand. "Go ahead, I won't be a third wheel."

Olivia's smile grew even brighter as she looked up at Raymond, noticing his usual calm demeanor.

But Raymond had always been like this. Olivia wanted passion, for him to declare to everyone in Silver Bay City that she was the only one for him, but Raymond never did that.

Olivia had been pampered all her life and had many fantasies about love. She wasn't short of suitors, though none could compare to Raymond. She just wanted to be cherished by him, to be the envy of everyone.

So, his occasional gestures of affection always felt lacking to her; she couldn't feel the passion.

But now she had figured it out. Sulking abroad would only give others a chance. It was better to come back and secure her position as Mrs. Montague, and then slowly learn how to control her husband.

With Raymond seated, the other women also sat next to their partners, not daring to get too close to him.

So, it was just him and Olivia left.

Olivia's vanity was greatly satisfied, and she clung to him tightly.

There were several other tables around, all occupied by the core members of this social circle.

Olivia looked up and spoke to Raymond, seeing a waiter bring a glass of wine. She raised her hand to drink it.

Raymond frowned and gently stopped her.

"It's strong."

Hearing this, Olivia quickly put it down and obediently said, "Then I won't drink. Raymond, you go ahead."

She had already taken a sip and now pushed it towards Raymond.

Raymond casually replied, "I have an injury on my back. I can't drink for a few days."

Olivia didn't know when he got injured, and just then, others came over to toast Raymond, including Caterlington.

Olivia immediately stopped them. "Raymond can't drink for a few days."

Caterlington raised an eyebrow and teased. "You haven't even married him yet, and you're already controlling him. Isn't that a bit much?"

Everyone around started laughing, and Olivia's face turned red, filled with sweetness.
