Chapter 1577 Still Insist You Don't Like Her?

Even though Alex felt nothing for Ann personally, he found Azalea's vicious commentary crossing a line. Without hesitation, he forwarded the livestream link to Paul.

Paul was still at his office, his brow furrowed as he clicked on the link. Before Alex could even ask Paul's opinion on Azalea's claims—always one to stir the pot—he discovered her livestream had been abruptly terminated.

Just moments ago, her stream had over three million viewers and a flood of donations. No platform would voluntarily shut down such a profitable broadcast unless someone with significant influence had intervened.

Alex messaged: [Was that you? And you claim you have no feelings for her?]

Paul had simply instructed someone to shut down the stream—the woman was clearly deranged, spewing nonsense. What "sleeping with Ann for free"? He'd paid her a substantial sum.

Already irritated, Paul found Azalea's timing unfortunate, and Alex's smug questioning pushed him over the edge. With a single gesture, he arranged for Azalea to be blacklisted entirely.

When Lester received the call, the color drained from his face. Unable to identify who had made the move against them, he was only told to cease all operations immediately—a "powerful figure" was displeased. Too afraid to contact Elara, he sat in anxious silence.

Just then, he noticed Ann had posted on Twitter.

She had obtained security footage from the hotel showing her brief interaction at Stanley's door, and directly tagged Lester in her post: [Just signed a contract with Stanley's former agency. I knocked on his door because Lester asked me to tell him about food delivery. Spent less than 30 seconds there—unedited hotel security footage attached.]

The video clearly showed Ann appearing in the hallway, Stanley opening his door, a brief exchange of words, and Ann immediately leaving. No scandal, no tension, no angry rejection from Stanley.

By tagging Lester, Ann was forcing him into the spotlight with her. Having just been warned by company executives, Lester couldn't risk defiance.

He immediately posted his own statement: [Stanley has amicably terminated his contract with our agency. I personally handled the contract with Ms. White. I did ask her to knock on his door as I was ordering food delivery and worried he might oversleep. Ms. White is now his superior. Please stop spreading false rumors.]

Posting this, he felt sweat trickling down his back. He still had no idea whose wrath he had incurred.

Ann was surprised by his cooperation. She retweeted his clarification and stopped monitoring the trending topics.

With both her and Lester speaking out, and Stanley's former agency simultaneously announcing they were shelving Azalea for "maliciously spreading rumors about another company's executives," the narrative was shifting.

Ann was even more astonished. She knew the original scandal had been Lester's doing, and he wouldn't have dared act without approval from above.

Stanley's popularity made his departure damaging to his former agency, so their attempt to smear him made sense—while also undermining their competition.

With the controversy at its peak, if Lester had denied involvement and blamed Ann, neither she nor Stanley could have easily cleared their names. They would have carried the stigma indefinitely. Yet Lester had cooperated fully.

More surprisingly, his company had blacklisted Azalea—their rising star who had reportedly signed numerous lucrative deals. Such a move would cost them significantly.

Ann reasoned that a rival company wouldn't go to such lengths unless someone had applied serious pressure on the executives.

But who would help her at such a crucial moment?

If it were one of her partners, they would have contacted her immediately to claim credit and put her in their debt.

Yet her phone remained silent—no calls, no messages.

She lowered her eyes, a flicker of hope in her heart, though she told herself she was just being fanciful.
