Chapter 1385 What Are You All Staring At?

Selena moved to the edge of the bed, her fingertips trailing down his chest. His breathing grew unsteady as he watched her with eager anticipation.

When her fingers finally wrapped around him, his voice changed pitch entirely.

His stunning features reflected pure satisfaction.

Selena hadn't done this much before, and perhaps due to his excitement, he only lasted half an hour.

Yet he felt no embarrassment. His chest glistened with sweat as his fingers intertwined with hers.

"Selena, you're amazing," he breathed.

Suddenly, Selena pulled her hand away and blushed.

She changed the subject, "Once your wound is completely healed, we'll figure out how to deal with Victor. He probably knows by now that place has been destroyed."

Raymond sat at the headboard catching his breath, his naturally striking features now flushed with passion.

"Yeah," he nodded.

At breakfast, they were surrounded by people—the fighting arena had quite a few core staff members, most notably Helen.

This was Helen's first time seeing Raymond since his injury, as Selena had been fiercely protective of him.

Helen wanted to speak with Selena, but seeing how Selena quietly used her knife and fork with an expression that screamed "don't talk to me," Helen quickly understood. Though she and Raymond had planned the strategy together, she had pulled the trigger and wounded him. Until Raymond healed, Selena wouldn't let it go.

Still, Helen decided to break the ice with her future boss's partner.

"Selena, you haven't seen the three underground levels of the arena yet, have you? The fights down there are deadly serious. Raymond used to compete there regularly."

Selena's utensils froze mid-air, her brow furrowing. "Why would he fight there?"

"You don't know? Besides being the underground boss, he was also known as 'God'—a legendary fighter. Only a select few knew this identity. People who talk about him say he had a death wish. But then again, who values their life in that arena? Still, no one was as reckless as him. You have no idea how he—"

Before she could finish, Helen noticed Raymond desperately signaling with his eyes from beside Selena.

Helen hadn't dated anyone in over a decade and had forgotten what it was like to be in love—especially how you wouldn't want someone you care about participating in life-threatening games.

She'd hoped to bond with Selena over Raymond stories, but now realized she'd made a terrible mistake.

Glancing at Selena's expression, she saw how upset she was, gripping her utensils tightly.

Helen heard her ask Raymond coldly, "So you frequently participated yourself?"

"No, that was all a long time ago," Raymond quickly grabbed her hand. "Really, all that 'God' stuff—that was just a nickname from my younger days."

"Are you so old now?" Her tone grew icier.

Raymond was at a loss for words and looked to Helen for help.

Helen immediately lowered her head, pretending to focus on her food, clearly wanting no part in this conversation.

Selena set down her utensils.

"Have you fought since we met?"

Raymond was about to deny it but suddenly remembered that he had, in fact, participated.

Still, he lied. "No, honestly. Trust me."

The words had barely left his mouth when a glass of juice splashed across his face.

Selena was trembling with anger. Most people valued their lives, yet Raymond kept putting himself in deadly situations.

In such lawless places, the dangers of fighting arenas were unimaginable.

He already lived like royalty, yet still craved the adrenaline of dancing with death.

Raymond fell silent, merely wiping the juice from his face.

Selena stood up and walked out.

After she left, the others dared to gauge Raymond's reaction.

Truthfully, in all their years at the arena, no one had ever dared throw anything in the boss's face.

They expected Raymond to be furious, but he simply grabbed a napkin and said casually, "What are you all staring at? Is there something on my face?"
