Chapter 136 First Loves

Selena slid into the driver's seat, her foot still aching a bit but almost healed.

The silence between them made the car feel suffocating. She didn't hit the gas right away, just glanced at Raymond in the rearview mirror.

Where to? Ashbourne Manor, the Montague Group, or the hotel? She wasn't sure.

"Your phone," she said, handing it to Raymond.

He took it, saw two new messages, and frowned. Selena could tell his mood had soured, even without him saying a word.

Raymond was usually so composed, but messages from Olivia always got to him. Selena sighed; first loves were tough.

"Head to the Montague Group," he said, tossing his phone aside without replying.

Selena was about to drive when her phone rang. It was Fiona.

"Ms. Fair, Mr. William Montague is at Ashbourne Manor. He wants you and Mr. Raymond back immediately," Fiona said, sounding anxious.

Good thing the call wasn't on speaker. Selena was surprised—William at Ashbourne Manor?

She glanced at Raymond again. His phone rang too, probably William.

"Grandpa," Raymond answered.

"Raymond, I'm at Ashbourne Manor. Didn't you hurt your hand? I came to check on you."

"Grandpa, I have an urgent meeting at the Montague Group. I'll be back later."

"No rush, I'll wait."

William hung up, and Fiona ended her call too.

William was all smiles, visiting for the first time. He even went upstairs to check out the master bedroom. But Raymond had a bit of OCD and didn't like people in his space, so the room was mostly empty except for a few suits.

William opened the closet, feeling suspicious. Two people living together, yet the closet was spotless.

"Doesn't Selena usually stay here?" he asked.

Fiona, who was loyal to William but had been instructed by Selena, told a small lie. "Ms. Fair has been very busy and rarely comes back. Sometimes, to avoid disturbing Mr. Montague, she stays in another room."

"Show me," William said.

Fiona thought, 'This is bad.' If William checked, his suspicions would grow. Selena's room was the farthest from the master bedroom, thanks to Catherine's idea.

But Fiona had already lied once and didn't dare to continue, so she led him to Selena's room. It was much cozier, a girl's room. William didn't ask much, just took a quick look. It was obvious this room was lived in, unlike the master bedroom, which looked like a hotel room.

The two rooms were far apart, and William wasn't stupid. His face turned cold.

After dropping Raymond off at the Montague Group, Selena rushed back to Ashbourne Manor. Seeing William sitting in the living room, she knew something was up and quickly put on a smile. "William, have you been waiting long?"

William coughed, signaling Fiona to leave. Once they were alone, he asked seriously, "Selena, since Raymond came back, have you two had sex?"

Selena was stunned, then thought of that night, her face blushing. She understood his meaning.

"We have," she replied.

William was taken aback. Had he guessed wrong?

"Really? If you've been wronged, you must tell me."

Selena's face turned even redder. That night had been wild, and she had even bought ointment afterward. It was her first time, and Raymond had been intense.

So when being asked, her usual cool demeanor faltered, showing a hint of embarrassment. This was something she couldn't fake.
