Chapter 315 Are You Not Satisfied?
Selena was caught off guard, not sure what Raymond was getting at. Was it about the house? Or something to do with Sofia?
Her eyes landed on Olivia. Since Raymond had brought Olivia along, it seemed like it was about Sofia.
Selena said, "Mr. Montague, no grudge, I guess, if that's what you mean. Miss Sofia Stone already apologized. Besides, she's a victim, too."
As soon as she finished, Raymond's vibe turned icy.
"Anything else?" Raymond asked coldly. "Is that all?"
His presence was so intense that Selena felt suffocated, her palms sweating. Was Raymond here to round on her for something, but what?
Selena said, "So, Mr. Montague, what do you mean? Sofia owe me an apology. If I hadn't shown up today, I would've been framed by her. Even if you like Olivia, you can't twist the truth."
Selena's earnestness made Olivia think Raymond was standing up for her.
Olivia quickly softened her tone and clung to Raymond, smiling. "Raymond, it was Sofia's fault. We've moved past it, so don't make things hard for Penny."
Raymond didn't respond but his eyes bored into Selena.
Selena felt uneasy under his gaze. If Raymond really wanted to hold her accountable, she wouldn't be able to stay in Silver Bay City.
But Selena just looked at him, not backing down. She wasn't at fault here.
After a while, Raymond's hand reached over and placed the hot milk he had just handed over next to Olivia.
Olivia's eyes lit up. "I thought it was for Penny."
Raymond said, "It's just a bit hot, letting it cool down."
His tone was indifferent; his gaze lowered.
Selena felt uncomfortable all over. Halfway through the meal, she could feel the urge to shoot up and storm off, but she realized she had come over yesterday in Raymond's car.
Mia came in handy at this moment. Perceving Selena wanted to leave, Mia spoke up, "Raymond, when are you leaving? Penny can come with us."
Raymond had also finished eating by now, his tone even colder. "Let her walk back by herself."
Mia was stunned, looking at Selena with some sympathy.
She really didn't expect Raymond to be such a heartless man. After sleeping with Selena, he wasn't even willing to give her a ride.
Mia hesitated. "Penny, what do you think..."
She thought Selena would be angry, but Selena seemed relieved.
Selena said offhandedly, "Mia, thank you, but I'll just take someone else's car. Mr. Montague is in a bad mood today; I better get out of his way."
Mia wondered why Raymond suddenly got angry. These two really didn't look like they had made love last night.
When Raymond walked over to Alex's table, Olivia didn't follow and went to chat with other socialites.
Seeing Raymond's gloomy face early in the morning, Alex smiled. "Why the long face? I heard Miss Stone didn't sleep in her own room last night. Didn't you get what you wanted?"
"Get lost." Raymond sat down coldly, his aura sharp enough to cut.
For the first time, he wanted to punish Selena.
Coincidentally, Caterlington and a few other rich kids were chatting at the next table, their tone frivolous.
"We can't trust what a man says in bed, and we can't trust what a woman says in bed either. A few days ago, she was calling me honey when she was in the throes of desire. Now that she's hooked up with someone else, I've become that guy." The one speaking was also a playboy.
Caterlington chimed in. "At least it's better than not recognizing you after getting out of bed. When women are unfaithful, they're just the same. Why only blame us men, right?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the sound of a cup being crushed came from the next table.
Alex, sitting across from Raymond, was startled to see the blood on his fingertips.
Alex asked in a puzzle, "Raymond, what are you..."
Raymond looked at his hand with a dark expression. During the meeting, he had even thought that if Selena wanted to get married, he wouldn't mind agreeing.
He originally thought he could delay his divorce with his wife at home for a while longer, especially since William's health was still not good. But as long as Penny asked, he could get a divorce quickly.
But clearly, the honey she called last night wasn't him; she just mistook him for Lucas, right?
