Chapter 372 Just a Fling
Alex raised an eyebrow when he saw Raymond didn't deny it.
"Did you get her?"
Raymond glanced at his cards and tossed one out.
"Just a kiss."
Alex sighed. "Man, I never thought the high and mighty Raymond would fall for a married woman."
Raymond's hands paused, and his brow furrowed. "Don't talk nonsense."
"It's true. She's attractive, sure, but can you really share a married woman with another man? She just kissed her husband and then turned around to kiss you. Doesn't that gross you out?"
Raymond was grossed out but kept a calm facade. "Shut up!"
Alex chuckled. "Seems like it does bother you. Just a reminder, it's just a fling. If she can cheat with you, she can cheat with someone else too. People like her have low moral standards. Don't get hooked."
Raymond handed all his cards to him, leaned back, and hid in the shadows. "I understand this better than you do."
Alex thought, 'If so, you wouldn't be tangled up with a married woman.' But he didn't say it out loud, figuring Raymond's first time with Penny had him hooked for now. After a few more times, he'd probably get bored. And this kind of physical pleasure wouldn't make Raymond divorce for Penny, especially with Olivia still around.
Raymond sat there, his mind replaying the scene of lifting Penny and placing her on the table. She had panicked and wrapped her legs around his waist just like that night. Feeling a bit hot, he unbuttoned his shirt, his fingertips still carrying the scent of her hair.
When Selena got home, her mind was a mess. After a shower, she looked at her face in the mirror, red as if it could drip blood. The feeling of being held so dominantly still permeated every cell. But thinking of his words, she felt a bit self-mocking. Whether as his wife or someone he wanted to sleep with, he had never been serious. Even though she wasn't crushing on him, his face, reminiscent of someone in her memory, still made her heart race when he looked at her.
Selena felt annoyed because of Raymond. Thinking about the matters at Apex Holdings Group, she felt exhausted. Lying in bed, she tossed and turned, unable to sleep, afraid she would dream of Barbara again tonight. Her eyes reddened, and she sighed.
The next morning, the housekeeper from the Fair family called, panicked that no one had returned. Selena went to the Fair family home. It was empty, except for the servants; none of the owners were left. Beatrice and the others had met their own ends. The police had reopened Paddy's case, and Alice and Beatrice were still in custody. For the first time, Selena felt the house was truly empty.
"Disinfect the whole place. Sell all of Beatrice's things and donate the money to the welfare home," She ordered to the servants.
The servants were surprised, but realizing they couldn't reach Beatrice and the others, they understood Selena was now in charge and went to do it.
Selena then went to check on Manston Manor, confirmed the construction was going smoothly, and planned to return to her Rose Garden. But the villa's servant called her again.
"Miss Fair, a few people popped up, claiming to be your relatives. There are two elderly people, and they brought a lot of luggage."
They must be Victoria and Arthur. Selena immediately borrowed a few bodyguards from Shelley and returned to the Fair family with the bodyguards.
At this moment, Victoria was touring the villa, trembling with excitement. She couldn't believe she would be living here; it was like a dream come true.
She chirped, "Arthur, we're really going to bring honor to our family now. Steven, did you see this? This is the villa your dad and I talked about last time. I heard it's worth millions of dollars."
Steven was too excited to respond.
Victoria pointed to the tea on the table and shouted at a maid. "Seeing the owners arrive, you don't even prepare a cup of tea? I'm James's mom, Selena's grandmother. We will be living here from now on!"
