Chapter 88 What Are You Nervous About?

Selena shot up straight in her seat. If Fiona saw this car and came over to welcome her, everything would be blown wide open.

She needed to call Fiona ASAP to hide Max. With Raymond's dog hair allergy, who knew if he'd pass out the moment he got there?

And Raymond had seen Max before, so he'd definitely recognize him.

Just as she pulled out her phone, she heard John from the front seat say, "Mr. Raymond Montague, Mr. William Montague said the wedding house he set up for you is just ahead. He'll be here in a couple of days to check on your cohabitation with Mrs. Montague."

Raymond wasn't a fan of Selena, and John didn't like her either. Ever since the Fair family got tangled up with the Montagues, they'd been nothing but trouble.

If Selena hadn't saved William back then, the Fair family wouldn't have had a shot at getting close to Raymond.

The Montague Group helped with the first round of financing, and now they needed support for the second round, worth about three billion dollars.

It seemed like the Fair family was trying to use Selena to control Raymond forever.

It was pure ambition.

But somehow, Selena had managed to charm William. He took their marriage seriously and had already arranged everything before even coming back to the country. He said he'd personally visit the wedding house to see how they were living together.

Pretending to be a loving couple was one thing, but living together was another.

Raymond hadn't even been to Ashbourne Manor yet; there was nothing of his there. Once William checked it out, everything would be exposed.

John was driving just to show Raymond the way.

Raymond cared so little about this marriage that he didn't even know where Ashbourne Manor was.

Raymond's face darkened at the news.

Ashbourne Manor was less than 600 feet away now. It was a grand house in a great location, surrounded by parks and very quiet.

William had clearly put a lot of thought into choosing this house, showing how much he liked Selena.

Neither Raymond nor John noticed Selena's uneasy expression as she quickly dialed Fiona's number.

Fiona answered quickly, her tone cheerful, "Ms. Fair, are you back? Max suddenly got very restless at home, like he heard your car."

"Keep an eye on him," Selena said urgently, as if she could already hear Max barking.

Fiona was stunned by Selena's tone. Being smart, she quickly guessed, "Is Mr. Montague coming over? If so, I'll hide Max right away."

Selena couldn't help but admire Fiona. No wonder William had left her as a servant for her. She quickly glanced at Raymond, who didn't seem to understand what she was saying.

"Yeah, please do it quickly," Selena said.

After hanging up, Fiona quickly led Max to a previously prepared room.

The room was at the back of the villa, so even if Max barked, it wouldn't be heard unless someone got close to the room.

Raymond probably wouldn't be in the mood to wander around the villa.

Fiona then hurriedly called the few servants to disinfect the villa.

The car had already reached the gate.

Raymond had never been to this so-called wedding house before and felt an inexplicable resistance upon arriving.

John looked at his expression through the rearview mirror and tentatively said, "I can bring your things over next time. You don't have to go in personally. You can come over when Mr. Montague wants to have a meal here."

Raymond rubbed his temples and said indifferently, "Alright."

Selena's palms were sweaty, but she felt an invisible weight lift upon hearing this.

Raymond was very sensitive to emotions and now turned his gaze to her. "What are you nervous about?"
