Chapter 1555 Nightmare Made Flesh

Raymond was surrounded by skilled individuals who effortlessly passed the aptitude test.

Soon, fourteen people from this batch were approved and directed to a large vehicle, supposedly to be transported to a training facility.

Raymond gazed out the window, overhearing conversations inside.

"I never thought I'd pass. This time I'm going to earn as much money as possible," one person said.

"If I could make three thousand dollars, I'd be set for life. My parents would be so proud," another chimed in.

"When we return, could we afford a car? They say Vistalia Wealth Light Valley Street is the most opulent place in the world."

Raymond leaned back, his eyes darkening. 'Not the most opulent place', he thought, 'but rather the most terrifying hell on earth'.

The vehicle continued its journey for a solid four hours, eventually stopping deep within a mountain range. Only Raymond and his associates knew the true destination of this so-called "training."

The driver stepped out to speak with someone, then instructed everyone in the local dialect to disembark and line up.

Raymond understood the general language of the region but could only grasp the basics of the local dialect. The driver mentioned that someone would come for them and advised them to behave.

Fourteen people had been selected, and fourteen handlers arrived—evidently a one-on-one arrangement.

The others were excited, believing these handlers were instructors who would teach them skills for employment at Wealth Light Valley Street, where they could earn money.

Raymond remained silent, following the group forward. His own people weren't standing with him but were positioned separately.

They walked to a secluded cliff where staff members began calling names. Those called stepped forward.

After confirming everyone's presence, the staff allowed them to proceed.

Raymond immediately recognized this wasn't the research facility's central hub but rather a remote location connected to the main complex.

Without comment, he followed the entrance downward into a large hall and then to a private room.

Someone explained that a medical examination was required, including an injection.

He followed a person in protective gear until they produced a needle.

'If that drug enters my system, I'll never leave this place alive', he thought.

As the needle approached, Raymond grabbed the man's wrist and swiftly plunged it into his attacker's body instead.

The man panicked, tried to scream, but quickly lost consciousness.

Raymond exchanged clothes with him, then opened the door to see several workers in protective gear dragging unconscious bodies.

A worker approached, noticed the unconscious figure in Raymond's room, and promptly dragged him away.

Raymond locked eyes with another worker emerging from an adjacent room—instantly recognizing one of his own people.

Without exchanging words, they blended into the crowd of workers.

These low-level workers were numerous but restricted to this sector, unable to access other areas.

After just an hour, Raymond understood the research facility's strict zoning system, which resembled an advanced version of Mystic Prison.

At Mystic Prison, money could buy passage from the outer island to the inner island, but here, money was useless—and potentially fatal.

In another hall of the research facility, geniuses from various countries had gathered.

The most renowned was a female doctor, referred to as "the monster" of the facility.

Zaid stood outside the reinforced glass, watching the weapon contained within.

The subject looked barely eighteen, yet its violence was legendary—so much so that it had to be sedated every day just to keep it manageable.

Leadership still hadn't decided who would be given control over this creation.

A glint of fascination flickered in Zaid's eyes, but he was interrupted by the sound of footsteps behind him.

"You want it, Zaid?" Atlas asked, coming to stand at his side.

Lately, the weapon had become the talk of the facility—a pure killing machine engineered by the enigmatic woman scientist, spliced with genes that were never meant to be human.
