Chapter 283 I Remember We Haven't Made Up Yet

Raymond didn't say a word, just kept his head down, fiddling with his cufflinks.

Those silver-blue cufflinks really stood out; Olivia had given them to him.

Selena heard someone coming up the stairs, and Olivia showed up next to her, speaking softly, "Raymond, come upstairs with me. I'm really worried."

Then Olivia noticed Selena and her eyes turned sharp.

"What are you doing here?"

Just then, the doctor in charge of Max walked over.

"Miss, please go upstairs. The surgery should take about forty minutes."

Selena let out a sigh of relief, feeling like the room suddenly got bigger. She quickly nodded to Raymond and Olivia. "I'll head up first."

Olivia didn't say anything, just watched her walk away.

Thinking about the hair she found in the hotel room, she felt uneasy. Whose hair was it?

And just now at the hotel, after Raymond's meeting ended, she was about to hug him when Raymond said, "Olivia, remember, we haven't reconciled yet."

Yeah, when Olivia found out Raymond was getting married, she was the one who broke it off.

Even though he tried to talk her out of it twice, she felt he wasn't trying hard enough, so she didn't agree.

Then three years went by with no contact.

But she was the only girlfriend Raymond had ever publicly acknowledged; no one could replace her. Getting back together should be as easy as saying a few words.

But after Raymond said that, Olivia felt awkward. She thought that by calling him, they had reconciled.

Apparently, he didn't think so.

She needed to find a chance to talk it over.

But before she could, she heard the cat had an accident.

Olivia had to ask Raymond to come along.

Now she looked at Selena, her eyes sharp.

Selena's neck was wrapped in a scarf, which seemed a bit odd.

Olivia looked closer. They walked upstairs almost at the same time, with Raymond in front, and Olivia and Selena side by side.

Now she could clearly see what was under the scarf—hickeys.

Even though the scarf covered most of them, some marks were still visible, especially behind the ear, a spot Selena herself couldn't see and had missed.

Olivia chuckled lightly.

"Selena, did you just come from home?"

Selena instantly got defensive. "Yes."

"I heard you got married, and I couldn't believe it. But now it seems like you and your husband are doing pretty well now. Those hickeys on your neck, they must be from your husband, right?"

Olivia didn't look at Raymond, so she didn't notice that when she said this, Raymond's steps slowed for a moment.

Selena felt her scalp tingle.

If the hickeys weren't from Raymond, with Selena's personality, she could have snapped back at Olivia.

After all, their relationship wasn't great, and her asking this was already pretty rude.

But the hickeys were indeed from Raymond, just two hours ago.

And Olivia was Raymond's first love, the woman he was supposed to marry, which made Selena a bit flustered.

But she kept a calm face.

"Yes."

Olivia completely relaxed, her eyes finally landing on Raymond. Presumably, Raymond had heard their conversation just now.

A woman who had been with another man, Raymond wouldn't care about her.
