Chapter 316 You Took the Initiative to Approach Him
The thought of being compared to a guy like Lucas made Raymond's blood boil.
Raymond grabbed a tissue and wiped the blood off his hand. "Had a meeting all night. I'm beat."
Alex laughed. "Heard about that. Is the company that busy? Don't push yourself too hard."
Raymond replied, "Won't happen again."
He pulled himself together, stood up, and went to call Paul.
"Raymond," Paul called out.
Raymond said, "Paul, erase all traces of me from last night."
Despite his curiosity for the sudden demand, he replied promptly, "Got it."
After hanging up, Raymond saw Selena getting into someone else's car.
Just then, Olivia walked up. "Raymond, everyone's leaving. Let's go, too."
Raymond nodded and headed straight to his car.
Olivia got in with him. Noticing Selena didn't join them, she dissolved into a victorious smile.
Olivia said, "Penny mentioned she'd come to the wedding if invited. By then, Manston Manor's renovations should be done. Should we invite her?"
Talking about her made Raymond uneasy, but he kept his cool and stayed expressionless.
Raymond said, "Do what you want."
In other words, if Olivia wanted to invite Selena, she could.
Olivia was thrilled. Ever since Raymond handed her that hot milk, she felt bouyant.
Unfortunately, they couldn't ruin Selena's reputation today, and instead, Sofia's name got dragged through the mud.
It seemed Violet would need to comfort Sofia first. Once she married into the Montague family, Sofia would benefit, too.
In another car.
Mia had called her driver. She and Selena sat in the back.
After getting in, Selena started apologizing. "Mia, I'm really sorry. I planned to have seafood with you last night, but I fell asleep. Maybe I caught a cold after being thrown into the pool by Caterlington."
Mia smirked, thinking Selena's excuse a bit far-fetched, especially after runing into their intimate moment.
But since Selena was keeping it a secret, it seemed her relationship with Raymond was just about physical needs.
In Mia's eyes, Raymond was amazing. No matter what he did, he excelled.
After three years abroad, Raymond was famous on Wealth Light Valley Street. Otherwise, William wouldn't have made him the heir.
Apart from Olivia, Raymond had no scandalous girlfriends. Compared to others in the circle with many female friends, Raymond kept a clean slate.
But Mia didn't expect him to have a thing with her designer.
Mia asked pointedly, "Penny, when did you and Raymond start?"
Mia meant to ask when they started hooking up. Raymond was so good-looking; Penny was also beautiful and a talented painter and designer. Raymond didn't lose out, either. It would be great if their relationship became official.
But Selena misunderstood, thinking Mia was asking when they started working together.
Selena said, "Not long after Mr. Montague came back."
Mia was stunned. "That's quite early..."
Selena said, "Yeah, it was urgent, and I approached him several times."
Mia was surprised. She thought Selena would be shy.
But since it was Raymond, someone she saw as unattainable, she felt a bit awkward.
Mia said, "I didn't expect you took the initiative to approach him. I thought..."
