Chapter 354 Taking the Lead to Draw Nick Out

Nick smashed his fist into the car window, shattering it in one blow.

Beatrice, who was behind the wheel, let out a terrified scream.

Nick's eyes were bloodshot, and he was breathing hard.

"Shut up! I don't care how much cash you can squeeze from the Fair family. I want Selena, and I want her now!"

Beatrice gripped the steering wheel tightly, trembling. She could tell Nick was losing it all because of that damn Selena.

"Nick," she called out softly, but he didn't even look at her.

Beatrice kept quiet after that, but her face showed her anxiety.

James could wake up any moment, and she knew she was in deep trouble.

Meanwhile, back at Ashbourne Manor, Selena was still shaken.

Nick's problem needed to be dealt with, or she'd never feel safe anywhere.

Sitting around and waiting wasn't her style.

She took a deep breath, changed into some rarely worn clothes, and put on a hat and mask.

Before heading out, she checked herself in the mirror. Even Shelley wouldn't recognize her now.

As soon as it got dark, she left with two drivers from Ashbourne Manor.

These were William's men, loyal to the core.

One of the drivers was a pro. As Fiona said, he could lose a dozen cars chasing him.

Selena had this skilled driver take her car while she rode in another.

Since Nick was bound to come after her, she decided to take the initiative, lure him out, and end this once and for all.

She sent Nick a message.

Selena: [Where are you? I'll come find you. Let's talk.]

Nick replied quickly, sending an address to a secluded bar with no surveillance.

His intentions were crystal clear.

Selena pretended not to know he was the one who had chased her earlier.

Selena: [I think the Fair family is in some trouble. I need to ask you a few things.]

Nick saw the messages and sneered.

'That idiot Selena actually dared to meet me,' he thought.

He drove to the bar, arriving first and heading to the innermost private room.

When Selena arrived, she glanced at the dark, dirty surroundings.

If she showed up in front of Nick tonight, she probably wouldn't make it out alive.

She took a pair of scissors and punctured two of Nick's car tires.

Then she got back in her car, having the skilled driver park at the bar's entrance.

Finally, she sent another message to Nick.

Selena: [I'm here.]

Nick had already set up the private room with ropes, whips, wax, and drugs.

As soon as Selena entered, he planned to use all these tools to torment her.

Then he would sell her abroad, where she'd spend her life under others.

The thought made Nick tremble with excitement.

So when he saw Selena's message, he strode out.

Sure enough, Selena's car was parked at the entrance.

Just as he approached, Selena sent another message.

Selena: [I'm worried this place isn't safe. Let's go somewhere else, not far from here.]

Then the car in front of Nick slowly drove away.

Nick didn't want to miss this chance and immediately got into his car, feeling like fate was on his side.

He started his car, but the tire pressure warning indicated a problem.

Logically, he should have stopped to fix the tires. But the car in front was driving tantalizingly ahead as if waiting for him.

Compared to changing tires, dragging Selena down with him seemed way more tempting.

But Selena wasn't in that car; only the skilled driver was.

She hadn't cut the brake lines, as that would be illegal.

She had only punctured the tires, giving Nick a choice.

But Nick didn't care and chased her car without hesitation.

The driver in front, seeing Nick on hook, immediately drove onto the highway.

Nick had chosen a secluded spot and it was close to the highway.

He had been recklessly picking up the speed, which made things even worse. His car ended up in rampaging on the highway.

Seeing the erratic path of the car behind, the driver knew its tires were in trouble and made a sharp turn onto a road winding up a mountain.
