Raymond's good looks could make any woman weak in the knees.

"No."

Shelley was genuinely impressed.
Selena forced a smile and pretended to look into the ward, as if she didn't want to continue the conversation.
Shelley dropped the subject.
At that moment, the doctor was changing James's bandages, and the two bodyguards Shelley had sent were standing by the door, not letting anyone else in for the past few days.
Shelley couldn't help but pat Selena on the shoulder.
"But your stepmother seems genuinely worried about your dad. She's been crying at the door every day, and I heard Nick was also hospitalized a few days ago. Plus, with a sick daughter, she must be really stressed."
Shelley's tone soured when she mentioned Beatrice.
"Who knows if she's sincere or has other motives. Selena, do you have any shares in the Fair family company?"
"No, my father mentioned it once, but nothing came of it."
"Then be careful. In the Harper family, I'm the only daughter, so there's no dirty fighting over shares. But in other families, it's common, especially in blended families. You can't let everything your parents worked for go to Beatrice."
Just then, two men in suits approached Selena in the hallway.
"Selena, hello. We're the lawyers James hired earlier regarding the company's share distribution. James has probably mentioned this to you. Are you available today? We can arrange a meeting to discuss it."
When Selena went to Ridgefield, James had mentioned handing the company over to her.
So when she saw the lawyers, she didn't doubt them.
After checking their credentials, she confirmed there was no issue and turned to Shelley.
"Shelley, if you have things to do, go ahead. I'll go with the lawyers."
