Chapter 143 I Could Get Him

Selena had originally planned to pay off the eight million dollars first. Once the bank's money came through, she was going to sell her house right away. She didn't want to owe Raymond a dime, not even the interest.

But now, Raymond didn't want the money and seemed pissed. She had no clue what was going on in his head.

Raymond was about to say something when Alex's voice called out from a distance, "Raymond, it's time to go."

Alex had a few drinks but wasn't drunk. He spotted Selena standing with Raymond and asked, "What are you two whispering about?"

Raymond stepped away from Selena and walked off.

Out of courtesy, Alex nodded at Selena before following Raymond.

Selena stood there for a bit. After leaving the bar, she pulled out her phone to call a ride.

Just then, a car pulled up, and Nick's face appeared as the window rolled down.

Selena's eyes narrowed with caution, and she took a step back.

Nick smiled, glanced behind her to make sure she was alone, and smirked, "Selena, hitting the bar solo tonight?"

Nick's words were loaded with insinuation. After all, the last time he saw Selena, she was buying contraceptives at the hospital. He knew she wasn't exactly a saint.

Now, here she was, late at night, alone in a bar. Who knew what she was up to?

Nick got out of the car, looking sharp in a suit, and said, "You've been drinking. Get in; I'll take you home."

"No need," Selena said, seeing that her ride had already been accepted on her phone. She turned him down flat.

But Nick, undeterred, moved closer and even sniffed near her ear, saying, "No need to be so formal. After all, I'm your brother."

Selena frowned and pushed Nick away. "Dad's not here, so drop the act."

Her tone was cold. Seeing her ride had arrived, she stepped forward.

Nick stood there, rubbing the spot where she had pushed him and sniffing it.

Selena had a faint scent of alcohol, unlike other women who wore perfume. She had a natural fragrance that made him itch with desire.

He watched her get into the car but didn't follow.

Nick thought that eventually, she'd get used to this occasional teasing.

Selena got into the car and saw Nick's shadow in the rearview mirror, feeling nothing but disgust.

Back at Ashbourne Manor, Selena grabbed the soup she had prepared earlier and planned to take it to Raymond's hotel.

Since she had been drinking, she couldn't drive and called a driver from Ashbourne Manor.

When she got to the hotel, she made her way to the elevator.

The sound of high heels approached, and two well-dressed women joined her at the elevator.

The elevator arrived, and Selena entered with them.

The taller woman, Lyra Cole, touched up her makeup in the elevator’s mirror, pressing her lips together before reapplying her lipstick.

The shorter woman teased, "Why bother with lipstick now? Philip's just gonna kiss it all off anyway."

Lyra blushed but spoke with pride, "I told you I could get him."

"Yeah, you've liked him forever. Now that he's willing to come out with you tonight, I think one box of condoms won't be enough. With his stamina, you'll need at least two."

Selena frowned at this.

It wasn't their openness that bothered her; it was the name they mentioned. Was it just a coincidence?

The three of them got off on the same floor, which was all presidential suites, starting at ten thousand dollars a night.

Selena didn't rush to Raymond's room but glanced in the direction the girls were heading.

She couldn't help but message Shelley: [Have you found Philip?]
