Chapter 203 The Orphaned Girl with an Absent Father and Mother

James's phone buzzed with a new message, but he was too buried in paperwork to notice.

Beatrice walked in with a cup of warm milk. Hearing the notification, she picked up his phone.

James trusted her completely and never minded her handling his stuff.

"Hey, you got a new message." Beatrice opened it and her face changed when she saw the screenshot. It was from Selena.

She pressed her lips together and replied to Selena: [She's your sister and has been sickly since childhood. I owe her. If she wants something and you can give it, just do it. Why get mad at her?]

This was what James always told Selena, so Beatrice didn't think it was wrong to send it.

After sending the message, she deleted all the records and frowned.

She had warned Alice not to rush things, but now Selena had quickly figured out her intentions.

James and Alice hadn't completely fallen out yet. James couldn't be harsh on the child left by his ex-wife unless Selena did something really outrageous.

Now that the second round of financing for the Fair family was complete, as long as the company was stable, there wouldn't be any major issues. Other partners would help the Fair family out of respect for the Montague family.

Honestly, whether the Fair family married off one daughter or another to the Montague family, it was all the same.

Initially, because Alice was bedridden, she hadn't considered it.

Now that Alice's health had improved, wouldn't it mean that if Selena's reputation was ruined, Alice could take her place?

"Who sent the message, babe?"

Beatrice smiled. "Just spam. I took care of it for you. Focus on your work."

James wasn't in great health. He coughed a few times, then went back to his documents.

After Beatrice left the study, she went to the living room. Seeing Nick sitting on the first floor, her eyes lit up, and a plan formed in her mind.

"Alice likes Raymond. Can you think of any way to help? What do you think of Selena's looks?"

Nick didn't care much for this so-called sister; he only wanted the Fair family.

"Mom, what are you planning?"

"Her private life is a mess. If she seduces you and Catherine catches her, won't she kick Selena out as a daughter-in-law since she already doesn't like her?"

Nick always knew his mom was cunning. Otherwise, she wouldn't have tamed James so well and even secured company shares.

He lowered his eyelashes, a smile forming on his otherwise elite-looking face.

He was quite satisfied with Selena's looks, knowing she wasn't exactly a saint.

"Nick, I've watched you and Alice grow up. I know what you both want. The Fair family will be ours soon. If we get Selena kicked out of the Montagues, Alice can marry in. With your dad's help, Selena will be all alone. You can do whatever you want with her."

Beatrice knew her kids well. One look at Alice, and she knew her thoughts.

She had also long been aware of Nick's intentions.

In any case, they planned to kick Selena out. Having her serve her son was a favor to her.

"Nick, we need to find a way to call her back."

Nick wasn't as impatient as Beatrice. "I'll plan this. You just take care of yourself. If we mess up like last time and Selena finds out, we'll be the ones kicked out."

Beatrice's face showed some embarrassment, but who could have known Selena would suddenly come back for documents that night?
