Chapter 226 Like Sugar Melting in Water
Raymond pulled his arm out and nodded at Harrison.
"Long time no see, Mr. Rockefeller."
Harrison stood up, giving him a friendly pat on the shoulder with a grin.
"You vanished for three years without a word."
Raymond hadn't been around since he was forced to leave the country three years ago because of that marriage.
Selena couldn't quite figure out the connection between the Montague family and Harrison. Maybe Harrison knew William, so Raymond called him uncle too.
Rosalind jumped in, "If it were me, I'd run too. Marrying someone you don't even know? What was William thinking?"
Harrison shot her a look. "Don't gossip about other people's family stuff. Raymond, have a seat. We've got one of Steve's students here. You should meet her."
Selena, being part of that marriage mess, felt a bit left out.
But she didn't really know these people, so it didn't bother her much. She just nodded politely when Harrison introduced her.
"I already know Raymond."
Raymond realized Selena hadn't told Harrison that the house was designed for him. He was genuinely surprised to find out she was Steve's last disciple.
Harrison looked a bit taken aback. "How do you two know each other?"
They actually met in bed, but Selena was about to answer when Rosalind suddenly shouted, "Raymond, why are your pant legs dirty? Did you go to the mountains?"
Selena glanced down and saw Raymond's expensive pants were stained with mud, probably from following Han and his group into the mountains.
He probably didn't expect the road to be so rough, so his pants got dirty.
"It's no big deal."
His voice was clear and cold. Seeing Rosalind already grabbing a wet wipe and about to squat down to clean, his brows furrowed slightly.
Harrison sighed, seeing Rosalind so eager to impress.
"Rosalind, Raymond is a CEO and still goes to the mountains for inspections. Look at you, just because you got into Silver Bay City Art Academy, you now look down on regular exam questions and get distracted when you draw."
Rosalind stuck out her tongue. Her fingers were about to touch Raymond's pant leg but he stopped her.
"I have a spare pair. I'll change later."
Rosalind stood up, not feeling embarrassed at all. Instead, she took his arm again.
"Stay tonight. My dad went fishing yesterday and picked some mushrooms. They're super fresh, you can't get them in the city."
Rosalind liked city life but had to admit that wild food tasted better.
Raymond glanced at Selena, who looked a bit lonely since no one was talking to her.
He didn't know where this sudden feeling of suffocation came from, so he asked her, "Is that your drawing on the table?"
Harrison quickly chimed in, "Selena is indeed a disciple of Steve. Her drawing is excellent. I just sent a photo to Rosalind's teacher, who gave it full marks."
Rosalind was a bit unhappy about being overshadowed, especially hearing Raymond praise it.
"It is indeed good."
Selena had heard from Carter before that Raymond had a good eye for art, but she didn't expect him to praise her.
At this moment, he had already walked to her side.
Raymond said, "Let's go back together later."
He picked up the drawing and looked at it.
Their shoulders were so close, they could almost feel each other's fabric.
Breathing, even body temperature, had already spread, like sugar dissolving in water.
