Chapter 1445 The Spoiled One That Could Have Been Selena

When Selena got back to the underground fighting arena, her phone rang. It was Richard.

"Hey, Selena. Everything's sorted with the Smith family. No need to stress; those share transfer agreements are still good. I'll keep an eye on them while you're away. And just so you know, I've already sent Lawrence packing."

Lawrence was just a pawn to fix this mess.

Richard was flipping through some papers as he spoke, "I'll get the hang of the company's stuff eventually. And if I can't, I can always call Lawrence back. You just focus on finding that antidote. We're all counting on you."

Selena felt a wave of relief wash over her.

She hadn't spent much time with Richard, but he always had that big brother vibe, both in the past and now.

As for Lawrence, he spoiled Tessa way too much.

But if you think about it, if Selena hadn't been swapped at birth, she would've been the one getting all that love.

Lawrence did mess up, though.

His mistake was not giving that love to the right person.

Selena hung up and looked at Raymond standing by the window.

She was still worried about what those two impostors had said—something about an experiment?

Could all of this be connected to Raymond?

She slowly wrapped her arms around his waist from behind.

Raymond placed his hand over hers.

"Selena, I know you're worried. Don't overthink it."

She rested her forehead against his back. "How can I not?"

Raymond sighed and turned to hold her in his arms.

"If you want me to explain, I don't even know how to. I'm confused myself. So for this trip, we need to bring Mario along. Maybe he'll remember something along the way."

Selena nodded, realizing that she didn't know when they'd be back. She took out her phone and called Ann.

She couldn't help but notice that Ann's voice sounded a bit hoarse, like she was sick.

"Ann, are you okay?"

Far away in Silver Bay City, Ann touched her forehead and looked at the dark sky outside, forcing a smile.

"I'm fine, Ms. Fair. Are you coming back?"

"Not yet. Raymond and I are heading somewhere, and it might take a few months."

"Ms. Fair, I'll take care of everything at the company. You don't need to worry."

Selena felt relieved. With Ann there, she believed S.M Corporation would run smoothly.

Ann lowered her head, thinking about everything that had happened tonight, a bitter smile forming on her lips.

"Ms. Fair, I'll be waiting for your return."

After hanging up, she heard the barking of the puppy she and Paul had adopted. Its name was Tan.

But since Paul regained his memory, he hadn't contacted her.

Before he lost his memory, they at least saw each other often.

Even if he was only interested in her body, even if it was just to humiliate her, at least he wanted her.

Now, there was no news at all.

Ann couldn't help but think of him whenever she heard Tan's barking, remembering his promises and their moments in that villa.

And then she felt it was her own fault.

Raymond had warned her, but she couldn't resist the temptation and hastily gave her heart away. Now, she was left with nothing but bitterness.

She worked tirelessly, especially after Selena left. Most of the company's affairs fell on the core team members.

Ann had been working for two nights straight, and tonight she had to take Betty and Sophia to a party.

Betty and Sophia had successfully become top-tier celebrities and needed to network with investors.

Ann was still typing away at her keyboard when Betty walked in around six in the evening.

"Ann, you're working too hard. Ronald told me you haven't left the office for two days?"

Ann felt a bit dizzy and took a sip of cold coffee.

"Ms. Fair isn't back yet. I want her to focus on her tasks outside, knowing the company is in good hands."

"But you need to take care of yourself too. By the way, that woman causing trouble lately, her family seems to have some influence. Emily, right? She sure has a nasty mouth."

Emily came to the company building every day, sarcastically accusing Ann of seducing Paul.

Ann was surprised, wondering if all wealthy people had such leisure time. Emily did, and so did the women who admired Paul.
