Chapter 66 Raymond Is Allergic to Dog Hair
Jane was sharp. The moment she heard Raymond had been crashing at hotels since he got back to Silver Bay City, she knew things were rocky between him and his wife. They probably barely saw each other.
That's how it goes with rich folks. So, even if she fibbed about knowing his wife, Raymond likely wouldn't bat an eye.
Jane was out to stir the pot for Selena.
Raymond stopped in his tracks, his brow furrowing a bit.
He was getting more and more fed up with his so-called wife, Selena.
With the title of Mrs. Montague, Raymond thought Selena was getting too big for her britches.
"If Penny's been a hassle, Mr. Montague, you can always hit up Mr. Clark and ask for a different designer. It's happened before, where a client's wife personally asked for a change," Jane said, sounding all sincere.
Raymond just gave her a cold glance. "Okay."
With that half-hearted reply, he headed for the elevator.
Jane was left standing there, stunned, unable to follow him.
But she had already planted the seed of doubt between Raymond and Selena. If Raymond got fed up with Selena, who else in the studio could step in but her?
Jane felt a rush of excitement, thinking she still had a shot.
All she needed was to pop up in front of Raymond a few more times.
Her heart raced as she watched Raymond disappear into the elevator, feeling a bit shy.
Selena had no clue Jane had already trashed her to Raymond.
Selena tossed a plate into the air.
Max eagerly ran up, caught it in his mouth, and then lay at her feet.
Selena smiled, patted Max's head, and threw the plate again.
Only after tossing it did she notice someone suddenly appear in that direction. Her face changed slightly as she quickly called out, "Max, come back!"
But Max had already pounced, right onto the person.
Catherine let out a startled cry, seeing the dog paw prints on her white pants, and frowned.
Catherine never came here by choice.
Selena didn't expect her today, either.
Catherine snapped, "Why do you have a dog here? No pets allowed. Do you know Raymond's allergic to dog hair?"
Selena rarely spent time with Max because she was so busy. She hardly ever came back. Max had been with her since he was a pup and was like family.
Raymond's dog hair allergy had nothing to do with Max.
Selena asked, "Mrs. Montague, is there something you need?"
Catherine, while disdainfully wiping the paw prints off her pants, glanced towards Fiona in the distance.
"William's coming back soon. Even though I want you and Raymond to divorce quickly, William's health is poor and he can't handle stress. With him coming back, the divorce has to wait. So, Raymond will have to stay here for a few days. I'm here to explain some of his habits and to send over a couple of servants," Catherine said like it was the most natural thing, then looked at Max.
Catherine warned, "This dog has to go. Not a single dog hair can be here. Raymond's allergy is serious. If something happens, you won't be able to handle the consequences."
Selena never really had issues with Raymond. Their so-called marriage was like being strangers.
But accommodating Raymond's preferences? No way.
Between Max and Raymond, Max was obviously more important.
But this house wasn't hers, so she couldn't refuse.
Selena said, "I'll take care of Max, but there's no need for the servants. Grandpa has people here who will take care of Mr. Montague's needs."
Catherine snorted and walked into the hall.
The house was personally set up by William. It might not be the fanciest in Silver Bay City, but in terms of convenience and comfort, it was top-notch.
Catherine was pretty satisfied after looking around.
Catherine instructed, "The cleaning is okay, but that dog has to go. Once it's gone, disinfect every tile. Got it?"
