Chapter 348 What Matters is What She Thinks
The nurse was a bit confused but still brought the tray into James's room.
The two bodyguards saw it was the usual nurse coming to change the meds and didn't stop her.
Just as the nurse was drawing the medication into the syringe, ready to inject it into the IV bag, James suddenly opened his eyes wide and started gasping for air.
The nurse was startled by the sudden noise, and the syringe fell to the ground.
She quickly ran out and shouted down the hallway, "Doctor! Doctor!"
A group of doctors rushed in and wheeled James into the emergency room.
The nurse stood in the now-empty room, picked up the syringe from the floor, casually tossed it into a nearby trash can, and then took the trash can out to dispose of it.
Alice had been waiting at the end of the hallway. Seeing James being wheeled into the emergency room, she thought her medication had worked.
As long as it was injected, he would surely die.
She was about to feel triumphant when she saw the nurse holding the trash can, with her medication on top.
"Weren't these meds injected into my dad?"
"No, his condition suddenly changed. We don't know if it's for better or worse. We'll see after he comes out of the emergency room."
Alice's heart tightened.
If James woke up, she would definitely be kicked out!

She told Nick about the situation, and Nick immediately put on some clothes and a hat, and went out.

Alex nudged Raymond with his elbow. "You sent Sofia abroad. I guess it's because of Penny, right?"
Alex's mind always liked to wander, and he was usually spot on. "Has she bewitched you? I said before that she liked you, and you were dismissive. Now it seems she hasn't shown you any affection, but you seem interested in her. She's not even divorced yet. The great Raymond, CEO of the Montague Group, heir to the Montague family, are you planning to be her side piece?"
No one would believe it if it got out.
Many women were interested in him, but he not only wanted a married woman but almost forced her while she was still married.
Alex found it amusing to see the two entangled, especially the time when in the elevator, judging by Penny's panicked face and hickeys, it was clear she was forced.

Raymond held a glass of wine, his wrist exposed.
His voice was slightly cold and somewhat drunk. "What I think doesn't matter. What matters is what she thinks."
