Chapter 239 Seeing Her Makes Me Sick
"Let's grab Jacob first and make him apologize to them."
Erin nodded quickly. "Alright, let's go."
As Brian and Erin were about to head out, they asked, "Megan, you coming with us?"
Megan rolled her eyes and snorted. "I'm not wasting my time on that loser."
Erin's face darkened, but she didn't argue.
Selena listened from the side, feeling angry, but what could she do? It was their family drama.
They got to the police station, and before they even walked in, they heard Jacob wailing inside.
Erin's heart tightened. They walked into the lobby and saw Jacob, beaten black and blue, probably by the same thugs on the way to the station, making him almost unrecognizable.
"Jacob, does it hurt?"
Erin quickly walked in and grabbed Jacob's hand.
Jacob, still looking pathetic, burst into tears.
"Mom, please ask Selena to get me out of here. I really don't want to go to jail. I was really wrong."
Selena didn't think Jacob felt remorseful, just scared.
Otherwise, who knew how many times he'd get beaten up in jail.
Jacob cried pitifully and, seeing Selena, almost knelt before her.
"Selena, since we used to live together, help me, please. After all, I'm your cousin."
Selena had long known Jacob was useless and had no dignity, but seeing him cry so miserably still annoyed her.
"Now you regret it? Why did you fight in the first place?"
Jacob's crying paused at the question.
Selena sneered. "Still don't want to say? Then, stay in jail for a few years. I don't want to deal with it."
"Don't go! Don't go!"
Jacob instinctively grabbed her hem, his face showing some humiliation.
"Megan, that bitch, went to seduce that guy. I saw them almost in bed together. I couldn't stand it, and I lost my temper, so."
Selena raised an eyebrow. "You saw it?"
Jacob nodded, dejectedly lowering his head.
Brian and Erin fell silent, feeling embarrassed.
Selena sat down, looking at the humiliation on Jacob's face, knowing a man couldn't stand such things, especially witnessing it firsthand.
Even though Jacob had a mistress outside, his wife cheating was a blow to his dignity.
"Jacob, if I help you this time, you'll just cause more trouble with your personality."
Jacob's tears fell instantly, and he knelt before her.
"Selena!" He said hoarsely, "Do you think I wanted this? I ran away barely had food or clothes, and even lived under a bridge for a month."
Erin was surprised to hear this and quickly tried to pull him up.
"Jacob, the first year you left, Megan said she knew where you were. I gave her the last $100,000 we had at home to send to you. Didn't she give it to you?"
Jacob stiffened, his face full of anger. "The money went into Megan's pocket. Do you think she'd give it back? Haven't you seen what kind of person she is all these years? If she hadn't bullied me, would I have run away? That so-called 'sworn brother' she brought home, bullshit! He was her lover. I caught them in bed at home! Those two scumbags!"
At that time, Jacob was still helping out at James's company.
Selena frowned and asked calmly, "So in a fit of anger, you took the money and ran, planning never to return, leaving this mess to your parents? Because your dignity as a man was hurt, you couldn't stand it, so you cowardly ran away?"
Jacob couldn't refute, gritting his teeth. "Yes! I just didn't want to go home! I couldn't stand seeing that bitch! She disgusts me!"
Selena raised her hand and slapped him hard, making Jacob spit out blood.
Now, not only was Jacob kneeling, but Erin and Brian also knelt down.
