Chapter 343 She Only Wants Raymond

Alice took a deep breath and heard Nick smashing stuff outside.

Nick had been on edge for days, losing it over the smallest things.

On top of that, Selena and Olivia hadn't had a major blowout, and Sofia had been sent abroad, so Nick was even more on edge.

Alice didn't give a damn about the Fair family or the inheritance; she just wanted Raymond.

As long as she had Raymond, her life would be perfect.

She pushed the door open and stepped out. "Nick, chill out. Sofia's been sent abroad, and Raymond's clearly siding with Selena, but we still have a shot."

"What shot? Alice, you probably don't know, Dad ended up in the hospital because he caught Mom cheating with Kenny. Once he wakes up, we're all screwed. Mom's shares will be taken back, and the Fair family will be all Selena's!"

Alice's eyes widened; she had no idea James was hospitalized because of that.

Her face darkened immediately.

Nick took a deep breath.

"We're running out of time. I thought Raymond would divorce Selena right away to protect Olivia. Then, I could mess with Selena, and the Montague family wouldn't say a thing. As for Dad, Mom would find a way to keep him from waking up, and the Fair family would be ours. But you know Selena hired two bodyguards, and Mom hasn't pulled it off. Now Kenny's in the hospital too. I even suspect someone found out about Mom and Kenny."

Alice's face went pale.

She didn't want to go back to those broke days!

She took a deep breath and sneered. "Aren't our grandparents involved? Let them go to the hospital and make a scene, saying they want to see James. Those two bodyguards can't handle troublesome old folks. If they get hurt, they can't afford to pay."

Nick started to laugh, too. "That's a solid plan. At least it'll keep Dad from waking up. For us to stay in the Fair family, he has to go."

Neither of them had any feelings for James.

Nick was consumed by his issues.

Alice was only thinking about how to get Raymond.

James, who stood in their way, was just someone they could sacrifice anytime.

Somewhere in Silver Bay City, Arthur and Victoria looked eagerly at Steven as he walked in. "Steven, how did it go? Did the bank approve the application?"

Steven was James's brother and had gone to a prestigious university.

But the family was poor back then. James could've gone to college, too, but the family only let Steven go. Even James, who was just a teenager, had to work part-time jobs to pay for Steven's tuition.

Steven was now forty-eight, an awkward age where he had to support his parents and take care of his kids while always worried about getting laid off.

If he got fired, the $4,500 monthly mortgage would crush the whole family.

A few days ago, Arthur and Victoria tracked down James and got $450,000 from him. They heard that James's family lived in a villa in Silver Bay City.

Houses in Silver Bay City cost at least $1 million, and even a villa in a less desirable area would be $3 million. And James was running a company?

Steven had been in a bad mood all month. A new round of layoffs was coming, and he worried he would be on the list.

He had worked at the company for over twenty years, starting with a monthly salary of $1,000 and now making $6,000.

When they bought their apartment, they barely scraped together the down payment, even having Arthur and Victoria sell their old house to make it. It emptied the family's savings.

Luckily, the family hadn't cared about James's well-being; otherwise, James would have had a share of these things, too.

Just when Steven was at his most anxious, Arthur and Victoria suddenly heard that James was living in a villa in Silver Bay City.

It was shocking!

Steven thought they had been scammed by a pyramid scheme. James hadn't even gone to college; how could he live in a villa?

It made Steven, who had attended a prestigious university, feel a bit embarrassed.
