Chapter 272 The Thought of Taking a Nap Emerges
Olivia was hanging out by the doorway, totally missing the whole scene. But even if she had seen it, she wouldn't have thought Raymond did it on purpose.
Raymond was always so distant and cool, especially around women. No way he'd pull some childish stunt to get attention.
As she stepped out and the office door clicked shut behind her, Olivia glanced at Selena.
She had to admit, Selena was drop-dead gorgeous, like, seriously stunning.
No wonder Sofia had warned her to watch out. A woman like Selena could turn heads, and even if Raymond wasn't interested, he might still get tempted.
Olivia looked over at Sofia, who was standing nearby, eyes glued to the door with anticipation.
When she saw Selena and Olivia come out together, Sofia's face lit up.
"What's going on?"
"Raymond wants me to check out the house. I have some ideas to share. Come with me."
Sofia's face brightened with joy, but there was a hint of jealousy too.
This was probably a nod to Olivia's status.
Sofia felt a pang of envy and glanced at Selena, ready to take out her frustration.
"Did you hear that? You're the designer, so hurry up and take us there."
Selena didn't want to argue over petty stuff. She nodded and said politely, "Miss Stone, please."
Only then did Olivia smile, satisfied, and followed Selena.
Sofia trailed a few steps behind, feeling jealous. She liked Raymond too; honestly, who wouldn't? He was handsome and sophisticated, and even a short chat with him was a treat.
With Olivia back, Sofia's chances were slipping away. She didn't want anyone to badmouth her to Olivia and mess things up.
In the elevator, Selena pressed the button for the first floor.
It was just the three of them in there. To annoy Selena, Sofia brought up Raymond.
"Olivia, is Raymond going to marry you? He's even letting you help with the house. He probably has the wedding dress picked out already."
Olivia smiled gently, a hint of pride in her eyes.
But she hid it well.
"He hasn't mentioned it yet, but it should be soon. Don't tell anyone else about this. You know grandpa has someone else in mind."
Sofia immediately linked arms with Olivia.
"You're overthinking it. Besides you, who cares about that woman? She hasn't been to the Montague Group in years. I heard only William cares about her. Even Catherine gets mad when she mentions that woman."
Olivia smiled again, gently, but Selena always felt there was something scheming behind that gentleness.
"Catherine did tell me that once Raymond gets divorced, she'll arrange my wedding."
"Congrats! Now no one can stop you, and Raymond likes you so much."
Olivia didn't say anything, just smiled proudly and glanced at Selena.
Selena didn't join their conversation. The elevator reached the first floor, and she walked out first.
Sofia's face turned red with anger.
"Hey, stop right there!"
Selena stopped and turned, confused. "What's up?"
Sofia tossed her bag over, along with Olivia's.
"You're leading us to the house. You're our servant now. Isn't it your job to carry the boss's bags?"
