Chapter 1451 I Just Helped You
The boy turned his head and glanced at her.
Selena immediately flashed a smile. "Um..."
Before she could finish her sentence, she fainted.
First, she really wasn't feeling well, and second, she couldn't find a way to strike up a conversation with this boy.
So she decided to play the damsel in distress. If the boy had any decency, he would take her back.
But to her surprise, after she collapsed, the footsteps grew fainter and fainter. Clearly, he had left her there.
After about ten minutes, once she was sure the boy was gone, she slowly opened her eyes.
This was frustrating. Being new here, she had no idea how to find anyone.
She slowly got up and headed to the main street.
The streets here looked no different from those in the outside world, except for the lack of communication devices. Everything else seemed identical.
After walking for an hour, she felt tired and sat down outside a restaurant.
"What can I get you?"
The man's voice was somewhere between youthful and mature.
She looked up and, sure enough, it was the same boy who had left her earlier.
The boy, Emilio Blair, recognized her too, but his face remained expressionless as he handed her the menu.
Selena had been observing the people she passed by. None of them had the jellyfish tattoo in visible places, except for this high schooler. So, was he part of BK too?
She even wondered if she had accidentally stumbled into BK's headquarters.
The most dangerous place was often the safest. Could Barbara be hiding in BK's headquarters?
This suspicion made her uneasy.
K was a tough opponent. If he knew she was in his territory, wouldn't it be like catching a rat in a trap?
Emilio noticed she hadn't ordered anything yet but didn't ask. He just stood there.
Realizing this, Selena randomly picked a few dishes from the menu.
"You won't be able to finish all that. The portions here are huge. Two dishes are enough."
Emilio finally said a few more words.
She looked up and met his gaze.
"I helped you earlier, and you just left me after I fainted?"
Emilio looked down at the menu. "Anything else?"
Selena frowned. Emilio looked about seventeen or eighteen, yet he was so hard to communicate with.
She smiled and leaned back in her chair.
"Add two more dishes and eat with me."
"I have to work."
"Call your boss over. I'll pay for your time."
She was half-joking, just trying to get Emilio to talk more.
To her surprise, he actually called the boss over.
When the boss heard she was willing to pay a thousand dollars, he immediately sat Emilio down across from her.
"Take good care of the customer."
Selena then realized she was probably on the outskirts, the lowest-ranking area of Mystic Prison, where most people were poor and few could afford to be so generous.
So where were Raymond and Mario? Where were they staying?
Emilio sat down in front of her, naturally picked up a fork, and started eating.
Selena could tell he was in desperate need of money and probably hadn't eaten in a while.
But he still ate slowly and methodically.
"What's your name?"
"Emilio Blair, six feet tall, blood type O, seventeen years old."
"What's the meaning of the tattoo on the back of your neck?"
Emilio's hand paused, and his eyes narrowed.
Selena continued, "How much would it cost for you to tell me?"
Emilio hesitated for a few seconds, sizing her up, probably evaluating how much she could afford.
Selena didn't press further, waiting for him to speak.
But he was patient, finishing his meal before wiping his mouth with a napkin.
"How much can you offer?"
"Whatever you ask, I can pay."
This made Emilio lower his eyes. He stood up, went inside, and came back with a few takeout boxes, packing up the leftovers. Then he headed down a small alley.
Selena followed—after all, she had paid for his time for the day.
