Chapter 155 Who Was Really Pushing Too Far?
Olivia had made herself pretty clear, and Raymond wasn't dumb; he'd definitely get the hint.
She even daydreamed that once she got back to the States, Raymond might straight-up talk to his wife about stepping aside for her.
Olivia figured Raymond was just waiting for her to come back.
All she had to do was stop pouting and giving him the silent treatment, and she’d be his wife in no time.
With a little smile, she scrolled through her phone, her eyes lingering on a photo of her and Raymond.
In the pic, Raymond still looked pretty young. The love they'd built over the years couldn't be shaken by some random newcomer. That person was just a nobody, not worth worrying about.
Just as Olivia put down her phone, it rang. It was Sofia calling.
Every few days, Sofia would call to give her the lowdown on Raymond's latest activities.
Sofia said, "Olivia, Raymond's been hanging out with some designer lately. She doesn't seem like a good fit to me."
Sofia had mentioned this designer before.
But Olivia had complete faith in Raymond. Over the years, there hadn't been any women around him, no scandals at all.
So she didn't pay much attention to the designer Sofia mentioned.
Sofia added, "Olivia, you should come back quickly. This woman seems to have her eyes on Raymond. Before you come back, I'll keep an eye on him for you."
"Sofia, chill out. Raymond only has eyes for me," Olivia said.
Sofia pictured Selena's face and felt a bit uneasy. After all, Selena was really beautiful.
But since Olivia was so confident, Sofia didn't push it, even though she really didn't like Selena and found her face annoying.
Selena spent the whole night alone in the hospital, and the slap mark on her cheek was still there the next morning.
Last night, Joe had hit her hard, and thinking about it still made her a bit scared.
Selena took out her phone, about to call the cops, but they beat her to it.
Selena was a bit surprised, then realized Raymond's guys must've sent those two to the police. The kidnappers weren't exactly pros, so it wasn't hard for the cops to figure it out.
"Ms. Fair, right? These two have confessed. They were paid by someone else to come after you."
"Officer, I just want the person who hurt me to pay. You know who's behind this. I don't want a private settlement; let's go through the legal process," Selena said.
"Alright," the officer replied.
After a quick chat, Selena checked herself out of the hospital.
After a night, the drug's effects had worn off, but she still felt weak.
Just then, Reid called. Annoyed, she hung up right away.
Reid then sent a bunch of messages, showing how freaked out he was.
Reid texted: [Selena, don't push this too far. We can settle this privately. If you get the cops involved, it won't be good for your reputation.]
Selena smirked. It seemed the cops had already contacted Reid.
Reid thought she was easy to push around, assuming she'd cave to the kidnappers' threats. If those guys had really humiliated her and then blackmailed her with photos, her life would be ruined.
And Reid could use those shameful photos to threaten and mock her. Who was really pushing too far?
Selena blocked Reid's number, leaving the explanations to the cops.
She wasn't a pushover. The years of cooperation and friendship vanished completely at that moment.
