William finished talking and clutched his chest, wincing in pain.
Raymond froze, then quickly moved to support him.
"Grandpa, don't get worked up. I'll call her."
He helped William sit down on the sofa, and William shot him a glare.
"Don't think I don't know why you got with Olivia in the first place. It was all because of your brother."
Raymond didn't respond, just gently patted his back.
"Grandpa, you feeling any better?"
William took a deep breath.
"If you really care about me, stop making me angry. Selena is the wife I picked for you. If you get to know her, you'll see she's a great girl."
Raymond stayed silent. He didn't care how great Selena was.
Feeling a bit better, William pushed his hand away.
"Call her. If I find out you're up to any more nonsense, you'll regret it!"
Raymond had no choice. If William had threatened him with anything else, like the heir position, he wouldn't care. But William was using his health as leverage.
Raymond pulled out his phone, found Selena's number, and dialed.
Selena, exhausted from dealing with Lauren's drama, was finally lying down for some much-needed sleep at the Rose Garden.
Hearing the phone ring, she assumed it was Olivia causing trouble about the cat and turned it off without checking.
Raymond's call was cut off, and he saw William's face darken even more.
"Go kneel at the entrance of Ashbourne Manor!"
William's tone was icy. Raymond rubbed his forehead. Just as he was about to get up and go kneel, Fiona said, "He still has a fever."
Fiona didn't particularly like how Raymond treated Selena, but he was indeed running a fever tonight.
William was stunned and then stood up with his cane.
"If I find out that Olivia does anything outrageous again, I'll make sure the Stone family disappears from Silver Bay City. Raymond, you know what I can do."
With that, he started to leave with his cane.
Raymond hurried to see him off but heard him snort coldly.
"If you're not feeling well, take some medicine and go to bed early. The Montague Group won't fall apart without you. If you collapse, others will be happy."
Both of them knew who those "others" were.
The butler was already waiting for William at the door.
Raymond didn't go out.
Once the hall quieted down, he coughed twice. His cheeks were flushed from the fever, but his eyes were sharp.
Why did William come to Ashbourne Manor tonight? It must have been that woman who complained.
The hall was quiet, and Fiona quickly brought over a cup of warm water.
"Please drink."
Raymond sat alone on the sofa. Fiona didn't dare look at him directly, only glancing sideways a few times. But she had to admit, Raymond was indeed very handsome.
Calling him the most handsome wouldn't be an exaggeration. No wonder a woman like Olivia was eager to become his lover.
Fiona stood by, thinking for a moment, and couldn't help but speak up for Selena.
"Selena is usually very quiet at Ashbourne Manor. She's been working overtime these past few days, so..."
Before she could finish, he coldly interrupted.
"I'm not interested in her affairs."
Fiona immediately fell silent, not understanding why Raymond didn't like Selena, who was so good.
