Chapter 1467 He Is Not Clear-headed Now

Selena glanced at the lit-up screen and felt a wave of relief. Just as she was about to get into the car, she remembered that Raymond's phone was still with Violette.

She turned to face Violette.

Violette hadn't expected Selena to be so wealthy. The cost of that small screen was no joke. When Raymond had rented a large screen for a month, it had already shocked a lot of people. Now, Selena was doing the exact same thing.

Jealousy burned inside Violette, and seeing Selena looking at her, she puffed out her chest.

Selena walked over and snatched Raymond's phone from Violette's hand.

Violette's face turned red with anger.

"Why are you taking my phone?"

"This phone isn't yours. Raymond must have dropped it for some reason, and you just happened to pick it up."

Violette made a move to grab it back, but Selena pushed her away.

"You're shameless, stealing someone's belongings in broad daylight!"

Violette, furious, tried to approach again, but Selena had already gotten into the car.

Many people in the town knew Raymond, and Selena could easily find someone who could tell her a few things about him. But when she asked where he was, no one had a clue.

Selena had no choice but to find a place to stay and brought Emilio and Mario along.

Mario had been sulking since they got out of the car, playing with mud in the yard.

Seeing the needle marks on his wrists as he played, Selena felt a pang of discomfort.

She watched him for a moment before heading inside. Mario spoke up just then.

"Selena, I want to go home."

Selena wanted to go home too, but she ignored him and told him to come inside after playing for a bit.

Exhausted, she sank into the couch in the living room, waiting for Raymond to contact her.

She took out Raymond's phone and tried to unlock it with his birthday, but it didn't work.

Then she tried her own birthday, and it unlocked.

Raymond had bought this phone after arriving in town, and it had no content except for some unfamiliar call records.

She dialed the most recent numbers, but none of them connected.

Emilio sat beside her, his tone concerned, "Selena, you look tired. Do you want to rest for a while?"

Selena had rented this small villa for six months, giving them a place to stay temporarily.

She nodded and headed upstairs, but the phone rang just then.

A strange man's voice came through, "Mr. Montague, I'm confirming one last time. Are you sure you want to do this? Returning to that place means giving up everything you have. This new identity won't allow you to be with Ms. Fair. Isn't she still pregnant?"

Selena froze, instinctively wanting to ask what was going on.

But her voice was female, and if the caller realized she wasn't Raymond, he would become very cautious.

She hung up and replied with a text: [Why can't I be with Selena?]

But there was no response.

When she called back, the phone was turned off.

A sense of urgency washed over her. Had Raymond done something drastic because he couldn't find her?

Standing at the top of the stairs, she heard Emilio speak again.

"Who was that on the phone? Did Raymond contact you?"

She shook her head, her brow furrowed. "I need to find him quickly. If anyone comes to this villa looking for me, let me know. Also, keep an eye on Mario outside. He's not in his right mind, and I'm worried he might wander off."
