Chapter 330 It Was Good to Let Him Remember Her Kindness
The door swung open, and there was Olivia, stepping out. She spotted the flowers in Raymond's hand and took them, looking pleasantly surprised. "Raymond!"
She brought the flowers to her nose for a quick sniff and then asked Sofia to grab a vase.
Sofia saw the flowers and felt a twinge of jealousy, but she kept it to herself. She hurried off to find a vase and put the roses in it.
Raymond had picked them up from a flower shop on his way over because he didn't want to show up empty-handed.
"Feeling any better?" Raymond asked.
With Raymond's support, even lying in bed didn't seem so bad to her.
"Much better," Olivia said. "The food the chef brought was delicious. You must be super busy, but you still made time to visit me."
She felt a warm glow inside.
Olivia reached out and held his arm. "I haven't told my family about this yet. Didn't want them to worry."
Raymond gently moved her hand away. "I've got a meeting later. You should get some rest."
Olivia knew he was busy and sighed. "Alright, come see me after your meeting."
Just then, there was a knock on the door. It was Selena.
Selena had overheard Raymond and felt uneasy. She needed to get discharged and head to the Fair family company to see what was going on.
If Kenny had really messed things up, Selena wasn't sure if she could fix it. She couldn't afford to hang around the hospital with Olivia.
Seeing Selena, Olivia was a bit surprised and immediately put on a cold front. "It's you. Here to apologize?"
Selena had planned her apology carefully. With Raymond there, Olivia wouldn't do anything too extreme, like slapping her. If Raymond left and she came to apologize, it would be asking for trouble.
Selena smiled, hiding her true feelings.
"Miss Stone, it was my fault this time. I hope you can forgive me," Selena sounded sincerely.
Olivia had wanted to use this opportunity to really lay into Selena, but this girl knew how to pick her moments, showing up while Raymond was still there. She couldn't say anything too harsh.
On the surface, it looked like Selena was apologizing, but why did Olivia feel like Selena was the one being wronged? She had a broken rib, for crying out loud!
Olivia took a deep breath and sneered. "Ms. Cooper, you sure had some guts back then."
Selena lowered her head even more. "It was my fault. Please forgive me."
Selena had humbled herself so much that if Olivia kept holding a grudge, she'd look bad in Raymond's eyes. After all, she had said that an apology from Penny would be enough.
Now, Olivia realized that her stomach ailment and broken rib had only earned her a half-hearted apology. Was that all her pain was worth?
"You bi..." Olivia started to curse but caught Raymond's eye and quickly swallowed her words.
She felt so wronged that she could scream out any second.
Selena kept her head down. "Miss Stone, I'm sorry. I know you don't need money, but I'm willing to give you $30,00 for your medical bills and emotional distress. It's all I have on me."
If money could fix it, then it wasn't really a problem. $30,00 for a rib and a stomach ailment wasn't a bad deal.
Selena's humble act was infuriating, but her attitude seemed sincere.
However, Olivia was fuming. Who cared about that little bit of money?
But with Raymond there, she couldn't lash out so she said gently, "I'm letting this go because you're Raymond's designer. Next time, think before you act and consider if you can handle the consequences."
Selena lowered her lashes and gave a slight nod. "Yes, Miss Stone, you're right."
Her stance was already low enough. Olivia couldn't keep holding a grudge. Just seeing Selena irritated her, so she waved her hand. "Get out."
Selena turned and slipped out, and Raymond took the chance to say goodbye to Olivia. "Since this is settled, get some rest. I need to get back to my meeting."
Olivia felt really unhappy. It seemed resolved, but she got nothing out of it. She didn't need the $30,00.
But with Raymond's few words, Olivia reluctantly felt a bit better.
"Alright, Raymond, I'm only letting this go because of you. Otherwise, if people knew your designer was like this, it would hurt your reputation."
It was good to remind Raymond of her kindness.
When Raymond got into the elevator, he ran into Selena again.
Selena was holding her phone. Seeing Raymond alone in the elevator, she hesitated for a moment before lowering her head and stepping in.
