Chapter 300 He Must Have Selena

Shelley took off, leaving Selena trailing behind the two lawyers, but her mind was all tangled up with thoughts of James. He was still in a coma, and she had no clue when he'd wake up.

They ended up at a nearby park, nice and quiet, perfect for a chat. As soon as she sat down, she spotted Mia sketching in the distance. Mia saw her too and came over quickly.

"Long time no see!" Mia said, grinning.

Selena gave a small nod and smiled back. "Sketching again?"

Mia let out a sigh. "Yeah, I wanted to visit my cousin, but he's been so swamped lately he can't even spare a minute for me."

Mia glanced at the two guys in suits next to Selena, frowning a bit. Why did they look so familiar?

"Since you're busy, go ahead. I'll keep sketching. If you get some time later, let me know. I need your help with something, and I'll treat you to a meal. Sound good?"

Selena nodded without a second thought.

So, Mia kept sketching nearby, and they didn't bother each other. The two lawyers exchanged looks, both frowning. They hadn't expected someone from the Montague family to be here.

Selena sat on the bench, eyeing them. "Did my father consult you about something?"

"Selena, how about we move to a café?" one of them suggested.

Selena was puzzled. The park was close to the hospital, and if they wrapped up early, she could just walk back. Why go to a café?

A sense of danger hit her, and she stood up, her palms sweaty. Were these guys even lawyers?

Meanwhile, Mia paused her sketching, suddenly remembering where she'd seen these two before. They'd been around Sofia; they were bodyguards for the Stone family?

She quickly looked over at Selena, who was now hurrying towards her. The two men stood still, watching them closely.

Mia's driver was nearby, ready to alert the family if anything happened. The two men didn't follow but left with their briefcases.

When Selena reached Mia, her legs felt like jelly. If Mia and her driver hadn't been around, what would have happened to her?

"Why were you with the Stone family's bodyguards? Did you have something to discuss?" Mia asked, still in school and not thinking much of it.

But Selena's eyes darkened. "They were the Stone family's bodyguards?"

"I'm not sure. They just looked familiar. Maybe they were bodyguards for some other family," Mia said.

After all, rich girls often had bodyguards. Maybe they weren't from the Stone family but another one.

Selena stood aside, still sweating. Mia didn't notice and linked arms with her, friendly as ever.

"Did you finish your business so quickly? Check out my sketch. I'll treat you to a meal later."

Selena didn't refuse. The park was quiet and perfect for sketching. If she and Mia split up now, who knew where those two men would be lurking. The safest bet was to leave with Mia.

After walking a bit, the two men called Nick. "Sorry, it was supposed to be foolproof, but we ran into Mia. We knew her from when we were bodyguards for the Stone family, and her driver was nearby. We failed."

Nick gripped his phone tightly, eyes filled with malice. Because James had mentioned company matters to Selena before, they had disguised themselves as lawyers to lure her away, planning to drug her and bring her to him. He wanted to play with her until she cried and begged for mercy.

But who would've thought Mia would be at the park near the hospital?

He couldn't stand it anymore; the pain was torturing him daily. He had to have Selena!

"I'll add five million dollars. You must bring her to me," he growled, his mind twisted from his sexual dysfunction.

He clenched his fists tightly. He had to torment Selena to feel satisfied.

The two men exchanged glances. After being fired by the Stone family, they were short on cash. Nick had already paid them a million dollars, and now it was five times that.

"Don't worry. Although we've alerted her now, we'll keep following her and find an opportunity to kidnap her."
