Chapter 1600 She Was Also Abandoned So Cleanly and Neatly

Elara was still in a daze when she was escorted out of the Reed Villa.

She had begged her family on her knees, but not a single person stood by her side. Even her brother avoided her gaze, and everyone maintained a complicit silence.

Everything that had once been beautiful seemed to have shattered in an instant, revealing a bloody truth.

She used to pity Ann, abandoned by her parents and everyone else, even Paul. No matter how much Ann groveled, Paul wouldn't give her a second glance.

But now, Elara had become Ann, discarded just as swiftly and cleanly.

She sat in the car, dazed, and eventually arrived at a villa.

"Ms. Reed, please pack your things quickly. Your flight leaves in three hours, and you are not to return." This was what the driver told her, a decision made by the Reed family.

The Reed family had already announced this decision online and compensated the victim's family with ten million dollars in cash.

But the public outcry didn't stop. The insults continued, and anything related to the Reed family was dragged through the mud.

After packing her belongings, Elara felt utterly broken. She covered her face and began to sob. "How did it come to this? How did it come to this? I was wrong. I shouldn't have gone after Ann. I shouldn't have taken that puppy. I was really wrong!"

But who would listen to her apologies now?

Elara's eyes were swollen, but she still felt indignant. She wanted to see Paul one more time.

"Please take me to Paul's villa."

The driver was visibly impatient with her. After all, the video that had surfaced online was too outrageous. Anyone with a conscience would despise Elara.

Elara felt a burning shame on her face. To her, the driver was just a servant. She used to boss these servants around, but now she had to endure their disdain.

Her face flushed with embarrassment, and her nails dug into her palms.

The driver drove to Paul's villa.

It was already evening, and the streetlights were on.

After getting out of the car, Elara ran to the villa's gate. "Paul, I need to see Paul! Paul!"

She had loved him for so many years. How could he just refuse to see her?

And who was to blame for her current situation?

It was all because of him. She just loved him too much.

Her voice grew hoarse from shouting, but the security guards wouldn't let her in, and Paul didn't come out to see her.

Elara sat down on the ground and started calling Paul.

But her number had been blocked.

It felt like a sharp knife had been plunged into her heart.

People passing by occasionally stopped when they saw her.

"Isn't that Elara?"

"It really is her. That heartless woman. What's she doing here?"

"Get out! Elara, get out of the country!"

At first, there were only two or three people, but gradually, the crowd grew larger.

Elara's face turned pale with fear, and she ran towards her car. But a bunch of vegetable leaves was thrown at her from behind, causing her to stumble forward.

If it weren't for the crowd's basic decency, they might have slapped her by now.

Lying on the ground, Elara felt an unprecedented sense of humiliation. The stares of the onlookers were like sharp swords, piercing her all over.

She finally couldn't take it anymore and began to cry miserably, but the onlookers just coldly took out their phones and recorded her disgrace.

In that moment, Elara felt nothing but fear. These people were terrifying, and the world was terrifying. She wanted to find a quiet place to hide.

She quickly wiped her tears and ran to her car, the mocking laughter of the crowd trailing behind her.

Once inside the car, she started crying again.

The driver, however, frowned and said as he dropped her off. "The people you bullied went through worse than what you're experiencing now, Ms. Reed. You deserve this."

Elara was left outside the airport, feeling deafened by his words.

She wrapped her scarf tightly around her head, now terrified of seeing anyone, convinced that all eyes were on her.

She hid and sneaked her way onto the plane, fleeing to another country.

But even abroad, she only dared to stay in her small room.

The moment she stepped outside, the insults would flood in.

She didn't dare go out anymore, staying cooped up at home every day.
