Chapter 1634 Flirting

"Ann." Brody's voice had a hint of surprise as he quickly approached her.

"What are you doing here? Are you drunk? Let me take you home."

Ann heard his voice, her mind sluggish, but she recognized it was Brody.

She frowned and tried to push him away, but her strength was weak, making it seem like she was playing hard to get.

Brody immediately took off his jacket and draped it over her shoulders.

"Where's your coat? It's freezing out here. Why are you dressed so lightly?"

When he was with Ann before, he thought she was boring, always working hard to make money.

They were together for seven years, and she often talked about saving up to buy a house for them.

Back then, Brody thought she was incredibly foolish. Only she would think of earning enough to buy a house in the expensive Silver Bay City. Most women hoped to marry a local, securing both a house and a car.

Every time he came home drunk, she would always have hangover soup ready. No matter the time, she always made the most delicious meals.

Now that he's married to Jessica, no matter how late he comes home, forget about hangover soup; she would initially scold him for waking her up.

Now that he had established himself in the Young family, successful in business, Jessica kept a tight watch on him, practically calling him twenty-five times a day.

Brody now realized how good Ann was. How could he have thought she was boring?

"Ann, are you cold?" He held her hand, breathing warm air onto it. "Let me warm you up. There's a hotel right next door. I'll help you get a room. Don't worry, I won't touch you."

Ann stood up straight and pushed him away. "No, thank you."

Brody's face turned cold, and he reached out to button up the jacket he had draped over her. "Have we really become this distant?"

Ann found it amusing and actually laughed. But she was too drunk tonight, and after laughing for a while, she felt like throwing up.

Brody stayed by her side, thinking about the rumors he had heard in their social circle, his lips curling slightly. "You think Paul is any good? His sister often badmouths you in the group."

"It's not badmouthing, it's true that I climbed into his bed." Ann took off the jacket and handed it back to him, her tone icy.

"I'm not as pure as you think. Even you know that I was burdened with loans, couldn't close on the house, and had no money to repay. I had no choice but to take drastic measures."

Brody felt a sharp pain in his heart.

That house was supposed to be their marital home. He was really unwilling to let go. If only he could keep her on the side, he was so fed up with Jessica. Only someone like Ann deserved him. And she was ambitious and understanding.

His tone softened, now that he lacked nothing. "Ann, think about what I said before. Five million dollars a month."

His voice was gentle, almost coaxing, as he reached out to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. "You wouldn't have to work publicly anymore. I'll take care of you. Once you have our child, I'll give you ten million dollars a month. How does that sound?"

Whether it was anger or something else, Ann's mind suddenly cleared.

She looked up at him, feeling that his face was so different from what she remembered.

She had wasted seven years on a man like this, always thinking of him. She smirked, not even bothering to argue.

Not far away, Paul stood holding a bottle of water, watching the two of them flirt by the pillar.
