Chapter 328 What She Wants is Raymond's Attitude
Selena had already figured he'd stick up for Olivia. "I won't."
Raymond said sullenly, "Really? Not worried about the studio, your family, or your rep in the industry?"
His tone was so indifferent, even when he was throwing out threats.
Raymond raised an eyebrow. "Or worse, it could mess with the position your husband worked so hard to get."
Selena couldn't tell if she was in a dream or not, but Raymond seemed way more intense this time. He wasn't the laid-back guy she had remembered.
Raymond noticed she was still holding her ground, opening her mouth as if to cut in any moment he was speaking, but when he brought up her husband's job, she clammed up.
He let out a cold laugh. "Such a loving couple."
Raymond stood up, more determined than ever.
"Apologize to Olivia before you gets discharged," he ordered.
If she didn't, and Olivia got a medical report and went to the cops, it would be considered intentional injury. Selena was just a designer; if her family had any real clout, she wouldn't have so many weird and snobbish relatives in Ridgefield.
If Olivia used the Stone family's influence and got a lawyer, it wouldn't just mess with Selena's job; she might even end up in jail for a few days.
Raymond headed back to Olivia's room.
Olivia saw him come back so quickly and smiled. She thought she should call the cops and sue Selena for intentional injury right away, but she wanted to hear what Raymond thought first.
"Raymond..." Olivia started.
Before she could finish, Raymond sat down next to her. "I told her to apologize to you before she gets discharged."
A spark lit up in Olivia's eyes; she wanted to see where Raymond stood. Since he was on her side, she could afford to be generous.
"Alright, I'll wait for her to come," Olivia said.
The implication was she wouldn't push for more.
Raymond had a meeting at dawn. After sitting for a bit, he arranged for the hotel's head chef to take care of Olivia's meals to make sure she recovered, then he planned to leave.
"I have an overseas meeting at dawn," Raymond said.
Olivia knew he was busy but still played coy, "Come see me tomorrow, okay?"
Raymond wanted to say no, but thinking of Selena next door, he lowered his gaze. "Okay."
Next door.
Selena rarely felt this irritated. Just then, Shelley called, sounding down. "Selena, I checked on those two guys; they've left the country, so we can't catch them for now."
Without them, there was no proof Olivia was behind what happened to Selena.
Selena's brows furrowed, and Raymond's words made her feel even worse.
Plus, that bar was sketchy, with no surveillance at all.
Selena rubbed her brow, tossing and turning in bed, unable to sleep. She grabbed her phone and called Fiona, asking her to pick up Max from the pet hospital.
Fiona wanted to ask what was up since Selena usually picked up Max herself, but Selena sounded so tired, she didn't say anything.
Selena hung up but still couldn't sleep. She called the doctor and took a sleeping pill before finally drifting into sleep.
The next morning, Selena heard some noise outside, but it wasn't in her room; it was from Olivia's room.
The head chef of the fancy hotel had personally made breakfast for Olivia, and the food cart was already there.
When Selena stepped out, she ran into the food cart.
The cart was super fancy. Even though all the dishes were covered, the smell was amazing.
Selena stood there for a bit, hearing Sofia snort behind her. "This is what Raymond prepared for Olivia. Bumpkin, you've probably never seen a head chef from a high-end hotel deliver food personally."
Selena hadn't, actually.
Thinking about how Raymond was her husband in name only and how Olivia, who was in the hospital, was his first love, Selena felt a wave of absurdity.
Sofia stood at the door, sneering. "Olivia and I are waiting for your apology. Don't you see who Raymond is siding with?"
Selena's head hurt from all the noise, so she went to the hospital cafeteria for breakfast. When she came back upstairs, she ran into Raymond, who had come to visit.
Raymond was holding a bouquet of champagne roses.
