Chapter 90 Pick William up with Raymond?

Selena mulled it over and decided to give Raymond a call. "Mr. Montague, once the renderings are done, I'll need to start on the construction drawings. Are you sure you don't want to show it to someone special? I heard from Mr. Ashford that this house is for Olivia. Shouldn't you get her input?"

Raymond paused for a couple of seconds before replying in a deep voice, "No need."

Selena was a bit taken aback and couldn't help but wonder if the rumors about Raymond waiting for Olivia for years were true.

But then she remembered that night when Raymond had slept with her, calling out Olivia's name. The rumors were probably true; maybe Raymond and Olivia were just having a spat.

Selena didn't feel like a wife at all; instead, she was more curious about Raymond and Olivia's relationship.

"Alright, Mr. Montague, I'll call you if I need anything else." Selena had just hung up and was about to relax when she heard a knock at the door. It was Fiona.

Fiona said, "Ms. Fair, Mr. William Montague called me at noon. His flight is at six o'clock tomorrow evening. He wants you and Mr. Raymond Montague to pick him up together."

Selena's heart tightened as she wondered if she could find an excuse not to go.

But it was William, the person who had treated her like a granddaughter these past few years.

Selena took a deep breath and said, "I understand."

Probably around noon, when the car was going through the tunnel, there was no signal, so William called Ashbourne Manor.

William was probably already on the plane by now.

Anyway, Selena would eventually have to face Raymond in that awkward way, so she just had to be prepared at all times.

The next morning, after freshening up, she went downstairs and found the hall unusually quiet.

Selena looked up and saw Catherine sitting on the sofa.

There was a cup of coffee in front of Catherine, indicating she had been there for a while.

Selena had just returned from Ridgefield yesterday and was enjoying a rare chance to sleep in, only to meet Catherine unexpectedly.

Catherine saw her get up and snorted, "At this hour, Raymond has already had three meetings, and you're still sleeping in. Truly a person of low status."

Selena found it amusing. Catherine disliked her and targeted her in every way.

Now, because William was coming back, she was annoyed that Raymond might come to Ashbourne Manor to live with Selena, so she came early in the morning to threaten Selena again.

Catherine said, "I had Raymond's clothes sent over; they're already in the bedroom. You have some self-awareness, having moved out of the master bedroom."

Selena smiled and signaled Fiona to go about her business. She didn't want Fiona to get caught up in Catherine's wrath.

Fiona sighed and started wiping down the tables and chairs.

Just then, Max came in from outside after his morning exercise. It must've been raining because Max stood at the entrance, waiting for someone to wipe his paws.

Catherine's eyes zeroed in on Max, sharp as ever. "Didn't I tell you to get rid of that dog?"

Selena replied, "Mrs. Montague, Mr. Montague hasn't arrived yet. If he comes, he won't see Max."

Catherine snapped, "That's not acceptable! Raymond gets uncomfortable around dogs!"

Selena took a deep breath, keeping her polite smile intact. "Alright, I'll have someone take Max away later. Is there anything else you need this morning, Mrs. Montague?"

A cold glint flashed in Catherine's eyes. "I didn't come alone. I also invited James and Beatrice. They should be here soon."

Selena frowned. It seemed Catherine wasn't just here to warn her but also to put the Fair family on notice.

Selena felt a wave of irritation. If she had any improper thoughts about Raymond, then maybe she would deserve this. But she didn't like Raymond and never thought about continuing this marriage.

To her, it was all just a transaction.

But Catherine kept using this to humiliate her, which was just Catherine being excessively harsh.

Selena pressed her lips together, knowing Catherine's nature. If she argued now, Catherine would only become more relentless.

Moments later, James and Beatrice arrived.

James and Beatrice were flattered to receive Catherine's invitation. It was their first time visiting Selena and Raymond's marital home.

Catherine didn't bother to stand up to greet them. Instead, she raised her chin and said, "James, Beatrice, have a seat."

James was a bit excited. The Fair family had always been supported by the Montague family. Seeing Catherine now, they naturally had to be polite.

James asked, "Mrs. Montague, is there something you need from us today?"

Catherine's gaze swept over Selena, James, and Beatrice before she pulled out a contract from her bag.

With an indifferent tone, Catherine said, "Sign this contract. I know the Fair Group is about to enter the second round of financing. The Montague family has no shortage of money. As long as Selena and Raymond divorce and she doesn't take any property, the Montague Group will agree to the second round of financing for the Fair Group."

James's face turned pale instantly. "Did Selena do something wrong?"
